oh wellwould love to get a Riley commitment but IMO that means we lose someone who has already committed (and expecting x amount of playing time)

IMO Riley would be better than anyone Illinois might lose. Getting Riley and possibly losing a player (anyone possibly choosing to reopen recruitment) raises the ceiling on the 24-25 team.it isn't pleasant, but at least as just a fan of an all new team there is not yet that attachment and that player not seeing the court means they are not as good as the player coming in. do you lower the ceiling on this team on account of one player's feelings when they have the option to stay and earn their playing time?
I have the same thought. It seems likely.would love to get a Riley commitment but IMO that means we lose someone who has already committed (and expecting x amount of playing time)
Riley’s visit with Alabama is today.Apologies if this is buried in the previous thread, but am I correct in assuming that Riley's visit with Kentucky is over, and that he will be at Alabama on Saturday? Would it be reasonable to expect resolution by next week?
Saw this last month, hilarious!
How do you leave when the portal is close? The European guys can always go back but I don't see minute conflicts between Riley and the Euro players. Of course you can always step away from basketball for a while (a.k.a. the Skyy way).would love to get a Riley commitment but IMO that means we lose someone who has already committed (and expecting x amount of playing time)
What's the spa policy at state farm? We may need to revisit this

If one of our players is scared of competing against top tier talent for playing time, that means they should never have come in the first place, because Brad and staff have always said that they intend to bring in the best players that they can bring in year after year at all positions.would love to get a Riley commitment but IMO that means we lose someone who has already committed (and expecting x amount of playing time)
Exactly. Who exactly was passing to him on that team? Lol.Boswell a 'catch and shoot guy'? Ranks up there with worst Loyalty takes of all time imo
If we want to become a top ten program year in and out that is how it needs to be. Brad realizes this especially in the new wild transfer portal world. The top rated players continually still go to Duke, Kansas, Kentucky etc knowing they are going to be fighting for spots and playing time. It doesn't keep them from going there. It would be great if Brad can elevate Illinois to be held in that same esteem and respect. We are not there yet but he definitely has us going in that direction. If one of our players is scared of competing against top tier talent for playing time, that means they should never have come in the first place, because Brad and staff have always said that they intend to bring in the best players that they can bring in year after year at all positions.
There you go. Oh, that means a lot. How many did he follow from or on Illinois?
I think someone else posted a list, but after quickly scrolling looks like kj, kb, coach underwood, fletch, illinois bball account, and maybe coach's daughter? There you go. Oh, that means a lot. How many did he follow from or on Illinois?
Like I said yesterday, the UK wildcat forum was not receptive to him at all. He does not feel the UK brand, 100%certain.
Yes, it would. But since he is visiting Alabama today, I would not expect to sign him today, at least. It seems kind of rude if, after his visit to Alabama today, he immediately announced signing with Illinois. Funny, yes, but not likely. If there was an announcement from him today I would think it would be to Alabama's advantage. I would think he would take at least another day to make his announcement. Maybe Sunday, since that seems to be a popular day for these types of announcements.Would be a great day to sign Riley.
Strongly agreeI don't care how he was used at Arizona. Boswell is way more than a catch and shoot guy. When I think of a catch and shoot GUY, I think of Goode. Luke was a "catch and shoot guy". Luke hung around the perimeter waiting for the ball. Boswell can set the offense and is a great passer. Boswell can create his own shot off the dribble. He can play bootie ball. He is able to penetrate and dish and do so much more than just catch and shoot. Just because he played with Mr. Hog ball himself and was used primarily that way in their offense doesn't mean that is all that he can do.
That is hilarious. I’ve always wondered if Brad tells his players not to talk to his daughters.I think someone else posted a list, but after quickly scrolling looks like kj, kb, coach underwood, fletch, illinois bball account, and maybe coach's daughter?
It could mean a lot, but about you, mr barstool, than the kid. Lol
