Well, we are all aware of this practice of non committable offers. Maybe the Insider in question can verify if this is a real offer or the kid is getting his chain yanked with a conditional offer and is embarrassing himself on Twitter.

That's a fair point. I'm not sure they would take him right now. There's probably a few other bigs they like better.

Not embarrassing himself at all. All kids post offers on Twitter.

Embarrassing himself? He got an offer from state’s top university and tweeted that. He didn’t put in the tweet something like “and they love me. Plan to commit soon to them. Can’t wait to lead the team in scoring my freshman year.” He did what every recruit does. Whether committable or not, you announce an offer on Twitter. It’s marketing, PR or getting your followers up. Hell his tweet got this board writing about him for a day and I had never heard of him prior.

Didn't the lesser yet older Braun brother take a PWO at Missouri over a scholarship from us. Parker Braun I believe.

Yes he did … Mizzou PWO (his Mom, Uncle and Aunt all played at Mizzou) then he transferred to Santa Clara (played with Podz last year) … and is now on scholarship at Kansas where his little brother played who now plays for the Nuggets … He just won CBB and NBA championships in back to back years … Not a bad deal there …

A flyer??
He will be Top 150 kid.
He just finished his junior year in high school.
He is 6'11", can dribble and pass the basketball, and is a better shooter now than most of our team.
Better than taking some more European project guys who never play instead.
Yeah, another Lieb. :(

It takes a lot of skill to evaluate a basketball player without watching him pay basketball. LOL.
Did you even read what he said? I have no dog in this fight but you are coming off as just being contrary at this point. He admitted he hadn't seen the kid but had talked to many coaches who had and was basing his take on their eval. If your seeing the kid in person is more valid than these hm coaches in your mind, then cool, but it's weird that you can't let that go and move on, tbh.

Am I missing something here. We have 13 scholarship kids this year that are signed. Are we not contractually obligated to them at this point? Doesn't BU have to have a volunteer to leave or some other reason to pull a scholarship to give to another player? Everyone wants BU to go after someone else, but can he do that presently?
Williams has legal problems and Harmon has to get academically qualified, so there is some chance there will be an open slot. But at present I don't think BU can offer anyone a ride, or am I wrong?

He can offer whoever he wants. Coaches will make room for a higher caliber player…..

Uh, no. Not even close. Jakstys shoots threes at a high clip and can dribble. Not remotely the same player.
Agree. He can also run the court and pass. Other than that, they are both tall, skinny white guys.

Jakstys: a few months ago I would have fully concurred with Indy's assessment (Lieb 2.0, a slightly better version, but still). Now I'm not so sure. Kid is getting better, is at least 6' 10", possibly still growing and he's pretty skilled. I think a case could be made for taking him, redshirt and see where he's at a year in. Now, whether he's up for that is a whole nother story. Between Dain, Amani and Morez, our frontcourt is strong. I can see taking a bit of a flyer on a center. Jakstys is going to have to make a compelling case to be the guy though.

The offers will continue to grow. Multiple high majors in contact. He has vastly improved this spring. (kids do that sometimes, you know). You clearly haven't seen him play.
Nah. He is smart, Ivy League material 8. Can't be any good.

I think we are approaching the time of the year where the coach wants his players to be set. If you are going to add someone they have to be elite and fill a void that you need. It is about 5 months to the start of the season. Lots of work to do
