He was ranked in the top 15 virtually everywhere until his injury. His injury made him fall down to the late 20s.
In fact, his highest rank in the 247 composite was #10 in August 2021. So he was a top 10 recruit at one point.

Actually, he was top-10 when he was a Kentucky recruit. Now the Illini are interested and he's NOW a 30+.He was ranked in the top 15 virtually everywhere until his injury. His injury made him fall down to the late 20s.
Will check that out. Love the history of Illinois High School basketball. Only 3 years old then in 1961, but have heard of great Colllinsville teams. Perhaps you remember 1953 high school state championship? Or am I over aging you by a mile? Ted Caiazza led my future high school to state championship.Agree on Thornridge and Quincy. Only undefeated Collinsville in 1961was close to being as dominant. Bogie Redmon to IL and Fred Riddle to Iowa.
And he did that as a true freshmanPeoria bias aside, there’s more to basketball than 3’s. Miller played awesome defense and made great basketball plays for us last season.
Players do practice and can improve on occasion. I am sure AM has been putting in the work while recovering to reach his goal of the NBA.
Owen Brown played 4 years under Lefty Driessel at Maryland, but he had undiagnosed Marfan's Syndrome and sadly died in a pickup game in 1976. He and my sister (cheerleading squad) were classmates and great friends. What happened to Otto Brown?
I wouldn’t focus on the position. Ie top 10, 20, or 30. This varies year by year with the quality of recruiting class. Skyy’s 24-7 rating is .9913 and he is a 5 star. Miller is a 4-star and .9884 rated. I believe Miller is our highest rated recruit to date. There is a significant difference in my mind between a true 5-star recruit (Skyy) and a high 4-star (Ayo, Miller). Basically a 5-star is an NBA ready one and done type. Since ratings began, we’ve never had a 5-star. I’m not sure if we’ve ever had a true one and done talent. Deron, Luther, Dee, Frankie, etc - these were all highly impactful college players that needed some time to develop into NBA ready players.I have never seen him play, but what are you basing his being our biggest recruit in 20 years on? He looks to be ranked around 30, which is similar to Ayo and Adam, and he is coming off surgery that is significant enough that it was a primary factor, according to Skyy, in his decision to decommit from KY. I've also seen posters call him a "top 10" recruit (I think), so I could be missing something or looking at outdated rankings.
Ayo was higher rated than Miller, by just a bit (0.9888). Meyers Leonard also had the same rating as Miller. Jereme Richmond is our highest rated recruit of the 247 era (0.9890). You are correct, none of them have been 5-stars (at least at the time of their final rating, I think Ayo was a 5-star at one point but may be wrong about that). If his rating holds Skyy would be our highest rated recruit in 247 history, by a decent margin.I wouldn’t focus on the position. Ie top 10, 20, or 30. Having a 5 star is valuable but championship team requires a majority rotation of experienced players IMO. Experience at the point guard is particularly important. Ratings seemed to be based on NBA potential rather than college contribution. The difference between no 20 and no 70 can easily be overcome by development and system fit. Davis and Murray are great examples. Hope we can see that with a Hawk, Dain, RJ or a Podz.I wouldn’t focus on the position. Ie top 10, 20, or 30. Maybe his artist can change it into Chief IlliniwekBut cover up that tiger tattoo
If King was 32 n 0 , number one in the nation and out scored the other team 32. to 2 in the 4th quarter of the championship game how could they have been much more dominant than that with the high low from 7'1" 240lb Griffith to a 7"3" 300 plus lb tourney MVP? King was unreal as was the public league back then. No downstate teams were close.Agree on Thornridge and Quincy. Only undefeated Collinsville in 1961was close to being as dominant. Bogie Redmon to IL and Fred Riddle to Iowa.
I remember that high low very well. Being from Rockford, I was paying close attention as Rockford Guilford play them in the title game.If King was 32 n 0 , number one in the nation and out scored the other team 32. to 2 in the 4th quarter of the championship game how could they have been much more dominant that with the high low from 7'1" 240lb Griffith to a 7"3" 300 plus lb tourney MVP? School has 2 business days after the athlete notifies them officially. Wade was fired yesterday so I doubt the first step has been taken yet.Is Miller transferring official. Verbal Commits transfer list does not show him. Here is list of those 4* and above who haven't chosen a new destination.
Also, EIU has a 4* 6'5" hobbit in the portal?

He’s an Underwood type of guy, no doubt. Until we know what next years roster looks like, I’m not willing to go that far, but he will be on the court.Day 1 starter
I only “liked” this so I could see what it looked like to have “and 69 others” after my like.I wouldn’t focus on the position. Ie top 10, 20, or 30. What’s the best player comp for Epps?Day 1 starter
I’m guessing these “stars” are very generous, right? I’ve never heard of a 4 star at Eastern or Morgan State. Is Miller transferring official. Verbal Commits transfer list does not show him. Here is list of those 4* and above who haven't chosen a new destination.

This is a tremendous turn of phrase. I don't know what it means. I don't want to know what it means. I'm just glad it's in my life.
