Jay's is an endorsement. One of the few I've seen for an alumni player. He's also a townie. O'Donnell's is part of his job at Busey.Jay Leman and Martin O'Donnell both do commercials in the CU area.

This is definitely not confirmed, but I had heard that the players get a housing and meal allowance. So if they can save money, including getting it gratis, they come out ahead. someone with more info on those rules can correct this or fill in the gaps.Aren’t meals part of a typical full ride package?
Fan of Jay but his commercials are kinda cheesy.Jay's is an endorsement. One of the few I've seen for an alumni player. He's also a townie. O'Donnell's is part of his job at Busey.
I thought room and board + tuition. Room and board usually covers meals….at least it did when I paid for itThis is definitely not confirmed, but I had heard that the players get a housing and meal allowance. Ohhh I think I understand now. From back in my days of knowing people that were managers, yes, they have an allowance for food/housing and aren’t necessarily restricted to just university housing/meal plans. In part due to scheduling, but also so the players can live a somewhat normal college life and learn some life skills (budgeting, prioritizing, paying bills etc) You could go cheap on housing and get some money or go heavy and cut elsewhere. This is definitely not confirmed, but I had heard that the players get a housing and meal allowance. Moms loved Groce and we secured less talent than we do now.Ok not this again.
Which mom outside of jamarra likes us???
Moms hate us
Would you say moms are fluid?Moms loved Groce and we secured less talent than we do now.
Moms are unpredictable.
There are billboards with him on it, I see his jersey all over the city, he has a commercial also. What does his presence in town have to do with it. He was a huge name. He didn't have to be here to appear in an auto ad.
Just curious from Chicago area folks. Is Ayo cashing in on endorsements?
EewWould you say moms are fluid?
I’ve been skeptical of this from the start.Sorry for the long rant. I was really hoping that NIL would level the playing field for us. I'm not feeling like it has.
Because we also believe no other strength and conditioning coach will make other teams guys better/stronger/etcWhy do we immediately assume Arizona overpromised? My meaning had more to do with working with businesses and alumni to increase NIL $$$.

I hope so, but I will believe it when I see it. There is absolutely no ROI for these backers, other than telling a few close friends "I helped pay for this team". Shhh. You literally need guys will cash to burn, cause if you are putting up 6 or 7 figures to land a 5* and getting a 0$ return on that money, you have to really, really, really, really love UI BB. I hope it comes to fruition.^ It’s been published that group(s) of Illinois boosters are being formed to do exactly that.
What’s the difference in ROI in this case versus traditional donations? I’d argue the ROI (which, I’d think, would have to be measured in team performance) should be higher in this scenario because it goes directly to difference making players rather than ambiguous DIA usage. The people organizing these things are serious about UI sports and have the money to back it up.I hope so, but I will believe it when I see it. I am on your side. I love UI BB and have since the late 70's. I hope the big money guys back up the brinks truck for us. Most big money guys do donations for tax reasons. I do not think the NIL is tax deductible as structure unless it is a business expense for these guys. I am sure they will have some smart tax attorneys and accountants looking at every angle. My point was simply most really wealthy people don't just give their money away, all benevolence has its limits. I truly hope they love UI enough to want to see a Natty in our lifetime and pony up.What’s the difference in ROI in this case versus traditional donations? Well I disagree that donations happen for tax reasons. It's a factor of course and changes what they give. But you're always money ahead by keeping your money .I am on your side. All I know is Texas A&M football has figured it out....Jimbo is not that likeable to get best NCAA recruiting class in the last 10 yrs. I think they have a process.. .he screens their targets, gives list to A&M NIL coordinator downtown and they take it from there.I am on your side. I love UI BB and have since the late 70's. These 3 next year are the type of class I can see making a Very Very deep run in NCAA in their Jr Yr, esp with the Fresh now being Sr's and the Kid we already have in 24.
Agreed and they all have complementary skills sets - I don't know how intentional that was by BU and staff but they all bring something very different to the table - Epps' scoring and shooting, Harris's defense and length, Rogers ability get to the paint score and reboundThese 3 next year are the type of class I can see making a Very Very deep run in NCAA in their Jr Yr, esp with the Fresh now being Sr's and the Kid we already have in 24.
And Goode, Podz, and Melendez as Seniors and Morez ( shoot, is that his last name ) and TBA as Soph's, that could be final 4 hopes.Agreed and they all have complementary skills sets - I don't know how intentional that was by BU and staff but they all bring something very different to the table - Epps' scoring and shooting, Harris's defense and length, Rogers ability get to the paint score and rebound
It will be fun to watch them together
When Goode, Podz, Melendez are seniors, Morez would be a freshman. And Goode, Podz, and Melendez as Seniors and Morez ( shoot, is that his last name ) and TBA as Soph's, that could be final 4 hopes.
