Ha! I am not here to disparage anyone or their opinions/information. I'm bummed that, as I heard it today, Illinois is OUT - Not even included in the conversation. That may change, but as of today, we're not in the final four.

And as disappointing as that was, it wasn't the most troubling information that came out of the conversation :(

Doom and gloom. We get it.

If people dont want to share what they heard I don't particularly care to hear that they heard something. I guess thats a bit ironic it just strikes me as "i know something you dont know!"

Fair enough. I get that and I apologize. I'll stick to the info I gave about Smith and cut out the other stuff because sharing it would reflect badly on a kid off the court and I'd rather not do that...shouldn't have even been 'hintin' at it subtlety. My bad.

For the record, I am generally an optimist. Been a season ticket holder for a long time and have stuck with the team through thick and thin. Really hoping that Coach Groce turns things around and that we are on the uptick. He's a good man, and I appreciate his hard work.

Thank you for at least clarifying this much then, since the box was opened. I was already speculating on other things...

Edit: namely, wondering why some kids really seem to have it out for the staff and going out of their way to disrespect the work they put in. I get that sometimes things just don't work out, but the circus act sometimes just makes you wonder sometimes what's really behind it.

They were talking last week about his high school coach. This is the same school another player that backed out of his commitment went to. The coach said it would be over his dead body before Illinois would get one of his players because of the death threats that player received.

If Wilkes committed to Illinois, what kind of threats would he receive from Hoosier fans?

Just met up with Coach Goce at Papa Dels. He has the full crew with him. Players, Dee, recruits...I asked coach how the weekend was going and he said it was going well so far! Let's hope we leave a good impression on Wilkes!

This happened a long-time ago and the situation only got weird when IU hired Sampson. The player eventually would distance himself from the thugs he was surrounded by at IU and would comment later that was a mistake to go to IU.

Different coaches and situation. Not sure he wants to play for Crean seems like a lot of instate talent going elsewhere.

Yup! I just got invited to Ubben to watch them all play tomorrow before the game. I am LITERALLY having one of the best Illini weekends ever.

The odds of Wilkes pulling the trigger this weekend are amazingly low, so don't get your hopes up too high.

I don't think the odds are that low. 50/50 either he will or he wont:D

I would lovie to see between football/basketball for us to get 5 or 6 commits out of this weekend plus a football win
