Iowa landing 1, 9, and 11 is pretty depressing, especially in a year when the state produces 11 four-star composite recruits

1. Epenesa is an Iowa legacy with his brother going there.
2. This is what nearly 25 years of stupid leadership pre-Whitman gets you...
3. The only cure is a 2024 bowl game, the higher the better, and bowl games for the rest of 2020s....

Throw in middle brother currently at Iowa

I ran into Epenesa little over a month ago and told him to just get it over with already. All in good banter while I'm wearing the Illinois hat

I’m sure he will be a beast in college. But when I saw him play York in the playoffs he got shot down by a kid that’s going to play d3 football. I know I’m basing this off one game but he literally did nothing that game.

Epenesa has a family lineage and ties to Iowa. There was no question that he was going to go there.

The depressing part is that this staff was supposed to make our state a priority. They were going to cover every inch of the state, talk to every coach, yada yada yada.

Having only 3 guys in the TOP 50 committed is embarrassing and it's a failure.

The portal has helped us because we've been able to pick up some of cast offs from some pretty strong programs. Some of those guys were highly recruited coming out of HS. While we can't compete with the upper echelon with regards to NIL money in football, it seems that we have enough to at least be respectable.

That said, I like Bielema and I think that our moderate success needs to be in noted. Ultimately, it's the wins and losses that matter.
