Anyone know who the next likely commitment will be?

For some reason, i feel very confident about Trimble.

Ranchview right behind me so...Shelton would mean something for sure. TJ Alford...I mean...goodness...

I get being "in" doesn't really mean much unless you get the commitment, but staff's been able to get "in" on some pretty good prospects here.

Gotta imagine if the wins go up, the gap would certainly open up in recruiting.

For your viewing pleasure. A full Illini rebuild in CFB14:

Now that was entertaining!

During the award ceremony at the end of season 5, it looks like Bielema must have been fired at some point during the rebuild. (That, or he finally lost some weight!)
Never watched this series, but I know Not The Expert does great work, UGF Pandas and RCU Moon Men forever!

Amateur recruiting "expert" take form me-

Winston- most likely to flip, Cal is not strong competition. However, if his local schools get involved (the Big 12 schools still have NIL war chests better than ours) or if Arkansas has a good season, things get tougher.

Shelton- his final decision will be very results oriented. If Arizona regresses with the new staff, his commitment will open with the Kansas/Illinois winner being a main contender. Whoever of Illinois, Kansas, TCU, and Arizona has the most wins him with Kansas having to play two of his other suitors with TCU being the other.

Alford- Biggest upset, best chance is Ohio State revoking the offer, slacking off in recruiting him, or Ryan Day, being the clown that he is, starts losing games. Even then Florida State is still lurking.

And, Purdue/Walters just got a four-star CB out of Ohio. Barring a bunch of wins this year and surge in NIL, this staff will have quite the talent deficit

Exhibit #263 to cancel the Mizzou series. They just got their 2nd four-star WR commit this week and now have 7 in this class (from MO, PA, FL, OH, and TN). This last one was a Chicago native who transferred to IMG. For comparison, I think BB has 4 total composite prep four-stars in his UI tenure
They'll also be getting a commitment Charles Bass soon.

People on here have said they would rather schedule a top team for non conference than make a low level bowl. As things are right now we arenā€™t on a level playing field with Mizzou. Maybe if our NIL budget triples we can

Does Purdue have the money to keep the talent? That will be bigger issue going forward as the Covid seniors are gone.

A little misleading. They have a better avg star ranking than we do and they also had a 4-star commit reclassify and sign so that he is on the team this year. By most measures, Walters has outrecruited BB since taking over at PU
And we have a better avg star ranking than 4-5 teams ahead of us. 4-star commits don't mean anything until they actually hit the field (case in point--our highest rated recruit being on campus for a month before leaving). I'll wait and see on BB's 4th year when he has given us the best 3 year stretch we have had since 2000-2002.
