The top 7 in Illinois for 3A were all in the 21s with 21.46 winning. No seniors in the top 7 and there was a sophomore and a freshman.

Illinois 3A = Texas 5A/6A. I’ve seen kids in 5A/6A not qualify for state with 10.3 100s and 50 foot triple jumps. Between 5A and 6A this year, there were 4 20-point 200s at the state meet, not to mention 6A 4x1 where every team but 1 ran under 41 and the top 4 ran under 40.

For comparison with Indiana who doesn’t have divisions……..and not known for sprinters
100, 6 kids under 11. 10.51 won
200, only 1 kid sub 22
4x1, 1 team sub 42, lots of 42s

Distance is a totally different story altogether.
