According to the Colgate Website, he's appeared in 26 games without any starts. Still, that's a lot of experience and a nice "free" depth piece.

Yep, good floor raiser in the secondary. Guessing he's also a good option for special teams. Might as well grab as many of these guys that you can before walk-on programs are substantially curtailed or cut all together.

I’m assuming walk ons are entitled to NIL payments just like other scholarship players

Cant believe they're actually going to go through with it. What a shame.

NIL can be provided to anyone. Hell, you can find a music major on a campus and give them money for their likeness. The issue was you could have done this with the music major since the beginning of time, but only recently could do it for the athlete. The coming horizon is that all D1 athletes are going to become employees. Just like how corporations do not have volunteer employees, athletic departments are wrestling with how to designate walk-ons in an employee environment. There are lots of options and political pressures, but it seems very likely that walk-on programs will at least be substantially reduced. Eliminating them is also an option.

That school has a notable alumni list including Brian Piccolo, Michael Irvin, Geno Atkins, and both Bosa brothers!

I remember listening to a radio broadcast of a bowl game and I suspect the list of alumni includes whoever that announcer was because it was a shout out to St. Thomas Aquinas for players on both teams any time they were in a play.

1. I am legit curious about this.
2. I am wondering if (pending walk-ons and non-scholarship players still being able to play) one day a player will be paid enough with NIL funds that he will not b a scholarship ala Ricky Williams at Texas

If walk-ons are eliminated, will a school be able to provide equipment and other support to a club program?

There are 3 divisions in track, so 1/3 of the high schools compete in 2A. 2A schools have enrollment of 420 to 1223. His long jump would have been 10th in 3A

Thanks for the info. That’s like 3A/4A in Texas which helps me understand the numbers better as track coach in Texas. The long jump numbers are pretty even which is actually kind of surprising. But Texas 200m times are all in the 21s at the state meet for 3A.

The top 7 in Illinois for 3A were all in the 21s with 21.46 winning. No seniors in the top 7 and there was a sophomore and a freshman.
