Social media not always a indicator of anything but Brown follows about every coach and a bunch of players. He has good relationship with a lot of em, it’s a matter of buying into the future. If we were to lose this one, it would sting.

They’ve pushed really hard for him so it would hurt, but I will be slightly surprised (and thrilled) if we get him. Only because guys like him have so many options. Twenty some offers and I think half of the B10 is recruiting him.

Wow, a big get that was the surprise commitment today. Badie and Pugh are two strong indicators that a little in-state sweat equity is going a long way. Also helps that the in-state talent is pretty solid this year (by rankings). If they can get Brown too then this could be the best Illinois football recruiting day in a long time.

Badie + Brown today would move Illinois to ~7th in B1G recruiting rankings and ~30th overall. Concern is that overall recruit rankings would still be below most of the Big Ten but still on track for best recruiting class in a long time by 247 rankings.

I want Austin Brown to commit to the Illini today, but Im pretty used to the idea that great things like that just dont happen often that in this program.
