Unfortunately, until proven otherwise I'm gonna assume that the most important line from that article is "has [an] offer from Alabama..."

Minnesota offered Danny McGuire last week. Would be great to show some progress and win a recruiting battle with Fleck.

I grew up 2-3 miles from Marist & know how really important those south side & south suburb catholic families are to being an easy drive away from watching the lad play on Saturdays

I would be most concerned with Norte Dame , Wiscy , NW and Iowa with him . If we are going to land him , i don’t think the B1G schools more than 4 hours away are as big a concern , but obviously from where we are coming from , losing a chicago kid to the B1G schools in Indiana & Michigan are always a possibility .

I’ll say

that lad’s brother is/was on the UM team and one of the reasons he committed as a HS soph .
makes one wonder wtf is going on behind the scenes over there . strange .
Don't know who put the whammy of confusion, disfunction and decommitment on UM, but keep it up!

Speculating this is the first time in our history we've been in a Final 5 with:

- Illinois
- Ohio State
- Notre Dame
- Oregon
- Tennessee

IW had offers from all of those schools.

Bama too

The doe-eyed Little Illinois stuff rubs me the wrong way. I know it's meant to be complimentary to Bielema, but the story won't need embellishment when we finally start seeing some consistent success.

Cooper had offers from Clemson, OSU, ND, Oklahoma and many others as well.

I see we offered a Louisville Male d lineman. I saw him play elementary basketball. He was taller then anyone in the league. Same school that Nate Hobbs went too. Boy would love to see him in Champaign. He will be hard to get away from Louisville.

247 sports has him as a db. rivals has him as a WR. someone else had him as a qb/ath.

I believe he will catch passes for us on offense, but maybe gets moved to db .

Curry had some good offers. Like the addition. Lots of opportunity in the next few years in the defensive backfield.

who's keeping track ? aren't we getting real close to the magic limit of 25 new faces allowed per year ?

16 enrolled/signed HS recruits + 1 new commit Curry + 6 transfer-ins (if they are all on scholarship) = 23

Not sure the exact numbers when you factor in last season's Blue Shirt recruits and any recruits/transfers in the current class that can be back counted to last year.
