This chain of Reasonable Opposing Fans paying us friendly visits is just not sustainable.

I think you're absolutely right that you'll throw some stuff at us in key moments we didn't know we had to prepare for (that's exactly what we did to Nebraska last week).
Let's be real about this - opposing fans are going to be pretty reasonable because the vast majority of us right now are still in something of a "we're happy to be in this position" right now. If Illinois becomes good to really good on a consistent level, I really hope we don't get to that "arrogant fan" level.

Having suffered through 30 years of consistently bad Illini football and a decade of bad Illini basketball, I'm not sure I'll ever be in the arrogant fan realm. I'll always remember the bad years and know that being good is not something to take for granted.

Any bar or food recommendations for those visiting?
I would hit downtown around midday. Walk College and Beaver Ave. Plenty of options...The Tavern and Corner Room are good for a more upscale meals. Champs, Zeno's, Cafe 210 West, Local Whiskey are good, lively spots for drinks. It's a good 1.5 mile walk from downtown uphill to the stadium. Definitely allow yourself time for tailgating! It is quite an experience with a beautiful setting. Most PSU fans are friendly and inviting, although an entire day of drinking will also mean you may encounter a few drunk and ignorant college kids that can't handle their alcohol.

Gotta believe Altmyer is fully motivated to improve on his performance from last year. So there is that going for us.

Also a few more things in our favor......
* Extra day to prepare since we played Friday and they played Saturday.
* We've already not only played and won a B1G game, but it was on the road against a ranked team in an extremely hostile environment. This is PSU's B1G opener.
* 9 OT game. BB knows how to win there.

Really looking forward to this one.

Can't wait to see how College Game Day picks our game. Herbie was the only one to pick us to beat Kansas. We'll see.

I expect one of them to pick Illini as one of the super dogs given the massive spread (underdog to cover game), but it will be a whitewash when it comes to actual game picks. If in Champaign you might get a pick for Illini, but it will be a big 0 here.
