Didn’t mean to imply harm, just interested in how different it appeared to me. Media day would explain it. I think on social media coaches tend to have more fun with it,Media day and if kid has already told Shaun’s she’s announcing tomorrow, no harm in mentioning.
I have no idea who is going to announce today but I will be not be disappointed if it is Manuella Alves-Fernandez.
A 6-3 forward who can play inside or out with high-level international playing experience? Yes please. Saw her dad is also a coach. Like coaches’ kids.I have no idea who is going to announce today but I will be not be disappointed if it is Manuella Alves-Fernandez.
Nice sleuthing. Her 24/7 page has a short scouting report on it.announcing today...hmmm?
If she’s following the Underwood playbook, she will keep pushing for them all.I think Parchment could be the last '25 commit of this cycle. We might now back off on Naomi Benson and Manuella Alves-Fernandez, or cause them to look elsewhere.
I look at our roster outlook and think that for 2025-26 we could only be looking to add via transfer portal another ballhandler and, depending on how Lety and Hayven perform/develop, possibly another center. An upper class, one-year transfer at both spots could be logical. Obviously won't fully know till the end of this season.
Anyone think we keep pushing for class of 2025 high school recruits?

Nice. Parchment looks good on paper. Hopefully gives us a lot to write about.
That's an impressive commitment to the program. It also shows that no one, other than a couple programs, is going to outbid us by millions. Seems easier to match another offer if it's only a couple hundred thousand/half a million above what we are already paying. If Shauna is able to recruit well and build a B10 champion program at Illinois there is no reason for her to go elsewhere. Taking over at a WBB blue blood that was build by somebody else only puts you in somebody elses shadow. Unless she badly wants to move back to IA I think we are safe. JMO. She is a midwesterner so chance of being hired to SEC or school in TX is low. I think Jay would match $$$ for anybody trying to poach her. She was at Dayton for 6 seasons despite making NCAA 3 times in first 4 years so I am confident she had opportunities to move earlier.
Illinois badly managed opportunity when they lost JM and BS. Mackovic got a 50% raise going to Texas which is a historical football power - Illinois did not try to outbid them. Oklahoma native Bill Self got major raise, joined blue blood where he had been an assistant coach, He took over a 30-8 team that lost in NCAA finals year before. Illinois did not try to outbid KS.

Shauna is 11th highest paid WBB coach. big drop off after NCAA champes Mulkey, Geno and Staley.

Pun intended?Nice. Parchment looks good on paper. Hopefully gives us a lot to write about.
I've read the writing on the wall, even stared blankly at the page, trying to cipher what was writ, and methinks...... yes!Pun intended?
