From what I have come to understand about the young man, he might have a bit of an ego. It would be hard to blame him, given his progress in this game to this point to his life. I'm wondering how him and KJ will jive? Can they play at the same time?

We have an awesome problem with too many starter type players….I am glad we have a coach who knows that the cream will rise to the top through practice.

We’ve heard how awesome Tre has been, DGL has been, how Ty has BU’s full trust. Heard how good Hum has been. We know KJ, Kylan, and Will are good. Morez is tearing it up.

Love to hear it all.

Whoa! I was very careful to not call him anything of the sort. Ego is something coaches deal with all the time. Given we seem to have a dearth of talent, minutes allocation and the resulting happiness of the athlete seems pretty fair to me.

I guess that means we shouldn't talk about rotation plans, minutes allocation, estimated average points, or recruiting battles.

Just wait until the news hits, then we can talk about it!

In fact, no more pre-game threads. We shouldn't talk about it until it happens.

We will have injuries at some point; we will have adversity at some point - depth will make these much more capable to overcome.

Out of the gate - we’re gonna be without at worst a rotation a good big man that was going to play at least 15-20 minutes a game.

When he was recruited, the staff laid out a long turn plan for him, and nothing was guaranteed. Love to see a kid see the long term plan and stick with it.

Really interesting that Illinois managed to get two transfers (Booth and Davis) who may barely see the court this season based on current speculation. Not to mention Humrichous, White, Boswell, Riley and Rodgers fighting over 2 starting spots. I bet they all thought they would be starters when they signed.

Most likely will be announced shortly after the time for the Rutgers football game is announced. Probably trying to not have them overlap.

The Galloping Ghost
As we are heading out west this week for football, I decided to check our basketball schedule to see what that travel will be like. Honestly, we lucked out this season. We play both the LA teams at home, including USC at 9 am their time. And we go to the Pacific Northwest in January before school starts up. That's about as advantageous as it's gonna get. Feel bad for the teams that have to head out west during February and March. And the travel for those west coast teams is just wild.

As someone just checking back in on the basketball side… what’s up with Tim Anderson’s role? Are we just going to go through the whole season with the disadvantage of being an assistant short? Can someone fill me in? Seems pretty devastating to not have a full staff this year.

Before I get scolded for not reading through the threads:

Kwa Jones is temporarily filling in as an assistant.

According to insiders, Underwood has identified and knows his top target. Going to try and get him next offseason.
