I’ll eat crow, was worried we didn’t have a proven scoring threat. We picked up KJ and was still on the fence but man oh man, he is THAT DUDE.

Also, Ty with a jump shot should worry every big ten team. Ty’s been one of my favorite Illini for awhile, good to see him finally kicking the yips

Much more dynamic than booty-ball! This new era of player turnover has also fostered a "gel quickly" culture that players come in having to trust, connect, and play on a quicker timeline since its more and more likely they may only have 1 season to make it happen. Let's do this!!

I’m not saying he does based on a 1minute 47 second video clip. However, if Ty has a reliable mid range and can shoot 30–35% from three he is gone to the NBA after next year.

BU has some serious bucket getters this year. I am pretty sure we will not have any 5-6 minute stretches without a bucket. Lots of guys who have high IQ, are willing to share the rock and can get their own at a high level. Staff never ceases to impress.

Ty Rodgers with a jump shot would be absolutely ridiculous.
Ty could have the same type of leap Shannon had from his soph to junior year and then even much higher leap as a senior. Would love to see Ty accomplish that. There will be no shortage of scorers on this 25-26 team and should be no lulls or scoreless stretches. Too many bucket getters and facilitators on this team for that to happen.

Out of curiosity, I viewed Duke University’s practice video from this past week and there are some impressive Duke players; there was good play out of number 14, number two, number seven and number one, but in our scrimmage video we looked better.

This was without two of our starters, and two great players.

We have something special.

I keep hearing a lot about the old Big 10 team’s potential, but nothing about the new 4. I have looked a bit at USCs roster and they look really good on paper. Has anyone done some research on the new schools teams? I would love to learn more about our new conference brothers. Also any research on the effect of West coast travel on team performance.
There's a part of me that thinks these four teams may have a hard time adjusting to the Big Ten way of officiating. We'll see if this is even a thing.

You're a huge supporter of our team and I think it's awesome. We all drink the O & B Kool aid....to an extent.

I have seen you toss things out there like this could be the best Illinois team ever.

What have you seen with this team with your own eyes, to date, that has you putting this group amongst those with banners and earned accolades?

I(maybe many) am trying to find one area that isn't a question mark. Quite frankly, outside of Boswell and Rodgers, I haven't seen one guy on our roster that has played significant minutes, at the college level, on a competitive team. I think that White is going to be a solid player, but the team he was on....good God were they bad.

I want to be as fired up as you are, but I can't find one area, outside of Underwood, that I feel 100% confident about.

So I watched the first two minutes of the Duke video. 10 out 13 buckets were assisted. Compare that to ours.

I love the enthusiasm right now. Definitely think we're in a great place. But this season will be decided on the chemistry.

History tells us when BU has returning leaders he can mold something special. I hope Ty and DGL are enough to accomplish that.

The league Ivisic played in is actually a tier above CBB. There are also two other guys coming in who are mocked to go 18th and 22nd in next year's NBA draft.

I'm being cautious with my overall optimism for next season, but we really ended up with a ton of talent. Will just have to see how it translates to Ws.

I’m not on the “best team ever” bandwagon, but here’s what I’m encouraged about:

- (2) productive starters from Elite 8 teams last year (Boswell & Rodgers)

- (2) 5 star freshman appearing on first round mock drafts (Riley & KJ)

- (2) former top 60 RSCI recruits who started last year for high major programs, but will likely come of the bench for us (Booth at 59 and White at 35)

- (2) talented (yet inexperienced) big men - one who’s potent from 3 and the other who’s potent as a rebounder (Ivisic & Morez)

+ a productive senior (Ben H) and a firecracker off the bench (DGL).

+ every position has players that fit that position. Some years (like last year) you go into the season forcing players like Ty & Coleman to play out of position. That’s not the case this year.

Who knows how they’ll gel and there’s definitely some inexperienced players on the team, but the talent is there.

I would hope there are some impressive players. They have, what, like 6-8 McDonald's All-Americans, including one who is very likely the 1st pick in the 2025 draft.
