We are finally at a point where we can have a schedule like the Gonzagas, North Carolinas, Michigan States, and Dukes of the world where any given weekend in the fall and winter you turn on your TV and they seem to have a marquee out of conference matchup in some random location. I've been hoping for this for a long time. Being a national, recognizable brand is the next step in ensuring we stay on top for the foreseeable future. And hopefully finally getting that Natty. Exciting stuff.
Just no aircraft carriers, please.

Looks like BU is going into the season with a fair amount of confidence in the team he has assembled.
Of course, unless we know for certain, we have no idea whether the schedule was adjusted unless we know when it was finalized or when the last couple of elite teams were contacted relative to the signing of which players. I have no idea, but would like to know if it was before or after the Europeans committed.

Definitely. My memory is that was the year we had played everyone who made the final four, and I think beat two of them
I had to look this up but we actually beat 3 of what would be the final 4. Beat Maryland then lost to Arizona in Maui, lost to Duke in Greensboro, beat Zona at the UC and beat sparty at home...just speaking non con, the twerps were 6th, Zona (maui) and Duke were 1st, Seton hall ans Zona (uc) were 7th, on top of the bragging right game and at Texas and at Kansas state who I don't believe was very good during that era...wowzers

Side note - I feel like every season we talk about how deep the upcoming roster will be...this was a different era but give me Archibald (RIP), Krupalaija, Johnson ans Harrington against any 6th-9th men that we've had since.

There was a reason it was an 7 loss 1 seed team. The losses were to really good teams

That year we went 9-deep with guys with 10+ mpg. The year before we had 11 guys average 10+ mpg. That 99-00 team was deepest I can remember.
I don't think we'll see that again, as coaches rarely do that, even if they have the depth of talent to do so.

You could say this for half, maybe more, of the top 25 rankings I've seen so far. Not saying we should be ranked ahead of those teams but that tells me how ridiculous these rankings are. There are a lot of unknowns for many teams.

With the roster looking solidified right now. Here is a hot take.

By the middle of the season the best lineup will be KJ, Riley, Ty, Hum, and Ivisic. Being able to play a lineup that is all 6'5+ is such a huge matchup advantage in college basketball(can sub in Tre, Morez, and Booth into the lineup above while staying Big and athletic).

With the lack of experience on the roster, I’d be shocked if Boz was removed from the starting lineup
