Bro Yes ...

And the Illini trounced FAU on national TV in MSG ... and this game was nothing?
FAU, definitely a good win, but two guys isolating the whole game takes the rest of the team out of the flow. Good win, but Mizzou, ball movement, 4 guys in double figures, 51 rebounds, 17 assists, and only 10 turnovers against a swarming defense. Just a much better overall TEAM game. I hope we continue to share the ball as many players on this team can be weapons on any given night.

I’ve been a pretty big Brad critic lately, however, if we can maintain last games ball movement, defensive intensity, and teamwork I will give Brad all of the credit. If we get back to hero ball and ole defense, that will fall on him also.

Mizzou may have been the best team effort of Brad’s tenure. It’s only one game, can he maintain that is the question.
You act like he’s done nothing since he’s been here….we had a bad year last year and we were a 9 seed…..he’s got the most conference wins the last 4 years. His offense since he’s been here hasn’t been hero ball….also the best team effort since he’s been here?

I didn't just say scream, Epps & the NW game was losing control. I don't know what is confusing about "bad", do you think it was good?
Eh doesn’t really bother me. I’m used to from coaches. That being Brad wasn’t/doesn’t just scream to scream. You know the straw that broke the camels back? That’s pretty much what happened that game….It had been building up all year…Jayden just did what Jayden wanted to do, blatantly ignoring the scouting reports, going under screens not forcing his guy a certain way etc.

Just can’t remember many games, maybe Michigan ? when Ayo was hurt, that we have hit on all cylinders. We have a good enough team to win when our stars have a tough night if they trust each other. I don’t know that we could say that the past few years.

Did this dude forget the time we went on the road without our All American and beat the #1 team in the country by 20 points?

Or the time we beat Iowa at home to clinch a share of the B1G title?

Or the time we beat Ohio St in overtime to win the B1G tourney?

Or even the game this year where we beat the #7 team in the country on a neutral?

Personally, I’d even put the blowout win on the road at Rutgers down for as good of a team effort as the Mizzou game.

The Mizzou game was great, but doesn’t crack my top 10 team effort wins of the BU era.

My Christmas wish is that these frosh get some real tick tomorrow and that our upcoming game domination allows for more minutes down the road.

"Killing it in practice" and "ready when their turn comes" are great, but some spotlight and big crowd reactions could go a long way in keeping these really good players happy and motivated and ease my portal concerns.

I hope Amani gets minutes and takes some 3s. If he can model himself off of EJ Liddell it will ensure him the most minutes in future years.

The effort has been there consistently all year. They executed to near perfection in the first half against Missouri.

BTW, it probably has been said before, but thank you for all your insights. We are a very lucky bunch of fans to have this type of dialogue opportunities. Keep sharing what you are comfortable with. I wonder how many other die-hard fans around the country have this? Probably very few, but I don't know? For those of us the have been players and coaches in our younger years, and fans forever, this is special. I am able to put myself into each of those scenarios as a player, coach, teammate, son, dad, ... Thanks!

What's ironic is that we're right back to the question that started the season. The PG. TSJ was a HUGE part of what make the PG by committee work(and it was working beautifully).

This team needs to find 1)20 PPG, 2)a go to guy, 3)a guy that can handle the ball and run legitimate offense, 4)a guy who you can count on late in games and 5)a leader when things get tough.

The maestro (credit to Dickie V here) is generally the primary ball handler and distributor. TR and JH are the two that are going to have to shoulder a whole lot of this.

They have to find an entirely new recipe for winning and it's going to start and probably end on the defensive side because I'm not sure where the point production comes from.

Have not seen anything regarding future lineup changes/playing time discussed. However, a question or two comes to mind regarding the absence of TSjr.
1. Not that I see the hole filled by anyone specifically, but what is the prognosis for Moretti's return, or if even possible at this point?
2. Maybe a question for insiders, but is there any chance the SH may throw his redshirt into the waste basket?

Before the season started, we have seen a rotation that at various times and viewpoints has included 12 players. At this moment, three are no longer available and three others CoHawk, Domask, and Q, have either had to or are trying to overcome injuries. That is half the rotation guys and certainly not unusual, but seldom seen on a team of this caliber. Sometimes it seems this demise is an Illini thing, but few teams escape. during a 4+ month season.

Defensive side of the ball could be even more of a challenge. How many points does he keep off the board for us. Everyone that I have seen is taking it from a purely offensive perspective. Can't do that. He was a STUD on defense! We will NOT be nearly as good. We can be decent but in my mind there are some teams in the BIG that are now licking their chops waiting to play us.

I’m actually not worried defensively. Can probably still be a top 20 defense without him but offensively everything starts and ends with him.
