Even with the GIFS there is no real content. So, put the GIFS on another thread so that, if/when there is real news we can see it more easily. If it weren't for gifs (and people complaining about them), there would be no content right now.

I can imagine the frustration Underwood and Whitman would have with that situation. Josh may need to up the trash can budget.Yes. He participated in a zoom call with a recruit. He obviously had taken the job. Then he went home and wife and kids said no.

I don't find it embarrassing for our program at all. Everything could have been official and he could still go back ala Josh McDaniels and the Colts a few years ago.Just because it's more embarrassing for him doesn't make it any less embarrassing for our program.
Honestly, I think Orlando left because we weren't using enough gifs in the first place.
Genius.Honestly, I think Orlando left because we weren't using enough gifs in the first place.
Wow. Now that is a very Illini thing to happen.Yes. He participated in a zoom call with a recruit. He obviously had taken the job. Then he went home and wife and kids said no.
A lot of come here for the community, and lively discussion with other Illini fans. We have some colorful characters. Some posters enjoy that, some don't. If there is a community member you find exhausting, click on their username and hit the ignore button.JMHO, but I personally have no problem with gifs when they’re in the flow of the thread. Using a gif to respond to a comment or using it as part of a comment related to the thread - no problem. The celebratory gifs when a recruit commits - no problem.
I personally dislike the long posts with multiple gifs that have nothing to do with the thread, especially when the same users do it multiple times with little contribution to the topic at hand. However, my scroll wheel works and I’ve learned that when I see certain names I don’t need to read the post because there is nothing of value being said.
Anyway…

Something about the order of operations here, lol.Yes. He participated in a zoom call with a recruit. He obviously had taken the job. Then he went home and wife and kids said no.
And what do you say when they say that they are not going? It's more embarrassing for him that he had made a decision and had to go back and say he didn't have permission. Either consult with you family before saying yes or tell them you are sorry but you have already decided.

I can't name the Duke athletic director either. Does that mean he's unimportant?I just sat here for 30 minutes & tried to think of any college team that I would know the names of the 3 ACs.. I cant & think that most fans cant also. The only team I know 2 of the 3 are Illinois & Kentucky for obvious reasons.
I would imagine having second thoughts about uprooting your family is common. I don’t see anything to be embarrassed about.Just because it's more embarrassing for him doesn't make it any less embarrassing for our program.
Translation: prepare for another potential week of silence. This is agonizing. The University has posted a position for "Assistant Coach, Player Personnel, Men’s Basketball". Not sure if this is Geoff's old position or the open position. Doesn't mention recruiting, so maybe it's Geoff's old job. Closing date 06/17/2021.
