How does that compare to other team owners?Regarding the Sox and Bulls Owner Mr. Reinsdorf... say (uh, stay with me now) that he’s just the greatest guy in the World! So misunderstood. So underappreciated. So much that we are so lucky to have him in the City of Broad Shoulders...
Having gotten all that out of the way... consider this:
He bought the White Sox in 1981. They have ONE title in 43 years under his leadership.
He bought the Bulls in 1985. They have SIX titles in 39 years under his leadership (and one very lucky draft pick that would have changed anyone’s franchise history).
Combined, that is SEVEN titles in 82 YEARS of his franchise(s) ownership and leadership. That’s a batting average of .085... Well below the Mendoza Line of .200. In fact, WAY below it.
His record – such as it is – speaks for itself. Whether or not fans should appreciate him (or not) is personal choice, as is whether or not his ownership performance is seen as admirable... or pretty much an underachieving failure.
And if you ever run into Michael Jordan, ask him (and other Bulls and Sox players too) about their true feelings about The Owner. You'll get more fireworks right there than the Bulls or Sox are likely to generate in the next five seasons combined.

And Pippen, Horace Grant, Tony Kukoc and Phil Jackson. It would compare quite favorably to any other team owner that happened to luck into getting a Michael Jordan.
Shhhhh that doesn’t fit his narrative. And Pippen, Horace Grant, Tony Kukoc and Phil Jackson.
They wuz good lol.Shhhhh that doesn’t fit his narrative.

Of course they were key pieces. But the truth is that they had their chance to win titles without Jordan when he took a break from roundball -- and they couldn't do it just on their own. Jordan as GOAT was the central core and soul of the team and the others were nice surrounding elements. The Bulls never won a title without Michael.
Good offense. Better defense.
This team is like Michaelangelo-sculpted to hand over the #11 pick in the 2025 Draft to the Spurs.I thought we were tanking this year to get Flagg?
They will be once they trade LaVine and Vuc.I thought we were tanking this year to get Flagg?
They’ve been trying to trade them for at least a year though. They will be once they trade LaVine and Vuc.
Zac they have, yes. Vuc they haven't tried to to until more recently. They’ve been trying to trade them for at least a year though.
Not so sure how true the former is. Certainly not shopping Vuc as aggressively, but if they could have gotten a good deal for him last year or in off season I think he would have been gone. With this past draft being a down one, I think they were just being picky. It’s not like they didn’t know last year that they wouldn’t re-sign DeRozan and that the Spurs had the protected pick.Zac they have, yes. Vuc they haven't tried to to until more recently.
Zac would have likely been gone by now had he not gotten hurt last season. Vuc will be gone once they can find the right trade partner as Jalen Smith is already on the roster to replace him.Not so sure how true the former is.
