Not a fan or root for Michigan State but liked them except when playing the Illini. Had a friend who lived down the hall from Magic Johnson and Greg Kelser. When i visited they both high fived us when walking by. Everyone was doing the low five back then and Greg and Erv claim they invented the high five. Also have a relative who served in the aircraft carrier (Carl Vinson) that State and Duke played their basketball game on. BTW the same carrier that the attack on Bin Ladin was used for the launch and recovery.
NFL - was a Jets fan for a while. A friend went to Alabama with Joe Willie. Follow the Bears a little but am a long time Oakland/LA/Oakland Raiders fan. Vegas not so much anymore. i have the same name as a long time Raider linebacker. Prefer the college game. ILL

In a lot of ways, the Jets have been the White Sox of the NFL over the years.

Sad times for Oakland sports fans. Raiders flew the coop to The Desert. And now Oakland is losing it's baseball team. And the City itself is not doing very well apart from sports, either.

In this historic 2024 White Sox Season...

The White Sox lost their 100th game of the Season on AUGUST 25th (with 31 wins).

In the 1932 White Sox Season they lost their 100th game on SEPTEMBER 19th (with 46 wins).

In the 1970 White Sox Season they lost their 100th game on SEPTEMBER 25th (with 56 wins).

So, the 2024 Sox have beaten the 1932 Season to 100 losses by 25 DAYS SOONER (and 15 less wins).

And the 2024 Sox have beaten the 1970 Season to 100 losses by 31 DAYS SOONER (and 25 less wins).

The 2024 White Sox... doing their best to make 1932 and 1970 look GOOD.

Do the Sox players get raises next year for making history? Let’s hope they were smart enough to get that written into their contracts!

The White Sox currently have a winning percentage of .235. If that rate holds up for the rest of the season, the White Sox will finish with 38 wins and 124 losses.

That is quite an accomplishment in the long history of Baseball. A lot of things have to fall in place to have a record that bad.

This is a Season to tell your kids and grandkids about some day – if you already haven’t.

And a lesson for Sports and Business Majors in school on how not to run a professional business.

To think - 2020 and 2021 was the first time the Sox made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. 2023 and 2024 back-to-back 100+ loses. When can we expect to get back to the 2022 mediocracy?

That's the first question. And the second question is... What City will the Sox franchise be located in when that day happens?

Jerry is staying in Chicago ... out of spite.

He might do that. But from the looks of yesterday's 'crowd' of ten people for a doubleheader on 35th Street... no one in Chicago will care any more. He has done a classic job of destroying a once-great sports franchise in a Major American City.

He has turned the White Sox into a National joke. And what decent free-agents are going to want to come and join this mess? Sox players on the team now already don't hide the fact that they don't want to be here. If their faces on the ball field got any longer they'd be dragging infield dirt everywhere they went.

This is beyond sad.

And beyond acceptable but not beyond belief. Too many good (not great) players rushed to the Majors and careers hurt by playing out of position. Need a lefty bat so let's play that first baseman in right field so we have a first baseman in right so play the other one in left. Can't let Eloi get hurt running into walls, take the aggressiveness out of him before he gets hurt. DHs don't get hurt, Kopek is a starter so let's bring him back from covid and TJ surgery in a hurry. No make him a long reliever no starter no closer. Let him close for two innings. Sign a new manager that the team he was on didn't sign as their new one.

A 20+ game turn around next year will mean another 100-loss season. 40 game turn around and it is still a losing record for 2025.

Still a Chicago White Sox fan.

Sox Comparison Yearly Records on September 1st

1932 – 39 Wins, 87 Losses

1959 (Pennant Year) – 80 Wins, 50 Losses

2005 (Champions) – 81 Wins, 51 Losses

2024 – 31 Wins, 107 Losses

Today, Sox get all of TWO hits. White Sox set a franchise record with 107 losses... and an entire month yet to go.

Sox now on their THIRD ten-game losing streak of the Season.

As was said today by a New York Mets TV announcer... “The White Sox are on a death spiral...”.

Something that was not exactly news to us Sox fans.

So the Mets sweep the Sox. Yes, those Mets -- the team the Sox owner really wanted to buy instead.
