Coincidence? We have a Nick Hardy Golfer and a Hardy Nickerson football player (and coach).

Charlie Danielson's family is just camped out in Eugene, Oregon.
His sister Casey has been playing for Stanford for the past 4 days and continues on into match play.
That could go through tomorrow, depending on how many times they can advance.
Then, the men start play on the same course, I think on Friday.
Great week and a half for the Danielsons

Yeah, they were both at the finals in Florida last year. Must be fun to have that trip planned each season.

Watching some of the women's championships, which again are being played at the same venue as the men. Very tree-lined course, if you're off target with the tee shot many times you'll have a punch shot left under some branches. And these greens are faaaaassssssttttt.

Choose looks narrow to me. Part of that is the way they mow it, but I also think it's just narrow. But the announcers never talk about that. Maybe it's just my eye

Stroke play starts tomorrow! Illini tee off on hole 1 between 12:30 and 1:30, I assume that's pacific time. Paired with Georgia and Oklahoma State, the 5 and 6 seeds.

Full pairings here.

I'm really excited for this to start !
Hoping that this is the year that the Illini pull it all together.
Its a tough grind, 7 matches in 6 days, but someone will pull it off.
Why not us? One of the best teams in the nation.

No team under par as of now. Must be playing pretty tough.....

I don't doubt that it is, but I see that the better teams are all going out in the afternoon. The best team in the morning group is #16 Florida. The worst team in the afternoon is #15 South Florida. So, maybe some teams will be under par by the end of the day

The Par 5s are playing relatively easy - only one team is over-par on par 5 holes so far, despite most teams being over par overall. That makes sense as the total distance of the course is just over 7,000 yards, which isn't huge for golfers this good. The short holes must be very tricky.

Nearly through the first 6 or 7 holes, Illinois sits at -3 which puts them in the early lead. Good start for the boys.

Just glancing at it the last hour or so, Stanford went from -4 to +5 in the matter of 3 or so holes.

#1 Stanford now +14....ouch. Illini T3 at -1. Three back of Fla St

+2 now

Seems like the first 3 or 4 holes are fairly easy. Most of the teams shot under par on them. 6-12ish are really humbling the schools. A lot of teams got off to really quick starts, but by hole 10 they were well over par.

The teams ahead or tied with Illinois are either at the same holes or haven't gotten to the grinders just yet, so the boys are sitting pretty well yet.

The board has been changing like crazy.

This course is wreaking havoc on all of these teams! What a nightmare.
