Week 6 Polls - Illinois #24 in AP Poll

#26
I love the 24 ranking. If someone had told me in mid-August that we'd be 4-1, I would have taken it all day long. We need scUM to go to Washington next week and win (then they have a Bye week), and we need to rest on our Bye week and take care of business against Purdue. I have October 19 circled. I want both teams to be 5-1. I want us to destroy scUM for the 100th celebration of Memorial Stadium. That will elevate us for the rest of the season. scUM is extremely beatable this year. Cannot wait for the rest of this ride.....

Honestly, the Ducks are even beatable this year. They have some of the best skill players in the nation but their lines have struggled at times. Solid and consistent play with a couple opportunistic turnovers could be the ticket there. Hard to imagine a road win in Eugene but I don’t feel as good about my Ducks this year as usual.

This IU deal is getting ridiculous. Wins over three cupcakes and two teams that will fight for the last place spot in B10...and we're below them for playing a nip and tuck game til the very end vs #7 PSU? And we've won @T25 Nebraska?

Rutgers is 4-0, has way better wins, and is much, much more deserving of a spot...7 votes? This is silly...

Kinda wish we'd dropped out tbh, but this team has been playing with a maturity level that I worry about it a bit less.

The reality of our resume is that we almost lost to a pretty bad Kansas team at home. But we survived there and that's probably our worst performance of the year so far.

Considering how bad KU has looked, this quite really might be true.

pretty incredible to think about considering the field storming, celebration, crowning it as BB's greatest win here, etc...

What??? If you're in a recruits living room, it's a lot easier to sell your program when you have a number in front of your name.

Worst part: Illinois isn't even the biggest snub in his ranking, Boise St isn't there either.
Never listen to anything these people say...

In the article this "Collin also put four teams in the top 25 of his betting power ratings that were not on my ballot: No. 19 Texas A&M, No. 20 Louisville, No. 22 Iowa and No. 23 Nebraska"

This tells you everything you need to know.. They have Nebraska ahead of us when we just beat them at their place.. However, we lose ( in the process, hold them to their lost point total of the year and was in a winnable game until the final 3 minutes ) and we drop out of the rankings completely to them, not even mentioned.

I am not sure what Illinois did to the media in the past, but it is clear, the media does not care about Illinois sports unless we make them care. Every school gets the benefit of the doubt, but not Illinois. We are always considered the worst case scenario.

ap poll is the one that matters most, and it’s just an ego stroke to say illini have been ranked 3 weeks in a row. I do like the sound of that though, but it’s a nicety.

That said, one of the ranked teams that we beat is ending up to be one of the worst teams in college football.

Indiana looks solid right now.
they look “solid” because they haven’t really played anyone yet . overall , the easiest B1G schedule of anyone
