Week 5 News & Games

Looking at the stats for the Nebraska/Purdue game, you would think Nebraska is dominating. But it’s 0-0.
Such a weird game. We moved the ball at will all first half until about the 30, then every drive stalled into either a punt, 1 missed field goal and 2 blocked field goals (low kicks and bad holds). Some on some really bonehead plays.

Our kicking game is a mess.

We also had one touchdown called back on an atrocious offensive PI call where they called our guy for a pick play when he didn't even touch him (the guy ran around him and then just slipped).

Finally in the 2nd half we dominated like we should have all game against a not good Purdue team.

Whatever, road win in the B1G, I'll take it.

KU went into a death spiral after we won, but looks like Nebraska figured out how to get back on the saddle. At least the Cornhuskers win will look good on the resume at the end of the season.

I am taking great pleasure in Wisconsin FB not quite being Wisconsin FB the last few years.
There was discussion during the week about the folly of Nebraska firing Frank Solich and their long struggle to regain their identity for decades afterwards.

Paul Chryst was Wisconsin's Frank Solich.

(A common theme in both cases is the old legend and de facto AD who isn't as good at hiring and supporting a coach as he was at being one)
