I feel like if we split the next 2 games this would be a huge win for us to go 4-1. Going 3-2 would hurt. Going 5-0 puts us in the next category of "why not the Illini" this season. I cannot wait for Friday night!!!

Going 3-2 would not see us at all out of reach of our goals, especially as the next two will be road games against very good teams, in very tough environments. There are more winnable games that follow. As others have laid out, getting to 7 wins (even 8 doesn't seem outlandish, IMHO) this year seems well within grasp. That would be an unqualified success for this season.

Nobody would love it more than I to see the Illini snag one (or both!) of the next two, but I'm not going to even begin to expect it. Been burned many times, as we all know too well, lol.

That being said, I'm looking forward to Friday night, as well. I-L-L!

Can’t believe Boston College got dropped for losing a competitive game AT Mizzou, but I’ll gladly take the ranking.
Not surprised at all. Early season volatility is very common in the polls (especially when ranked in the 20s), and the FSU win, while very big for BC, looks much less impressive now.

If Illinois loses by a last second field goal on Friday, Illinois will fall out of the AP top 25. Similarly, if BC beats on Michigan State Saturday, they will likely jump back in the top 25. Just the way the AP poll operates.
