Decisions, decisions..... who would you like to see win? ND @ Purdue. Tough call.

Depends.

If you believe Walters getting fired at Purdue is good for Illinois' business...

If you want Illinois' performances to be meaningful, ticket sales to be high, etc.....

Living in Indiana, I can never root for ND. Their fans and alumni are insufferable. Purdue fans can be annoying, but are easily countered.
I have Husky alumni neighbors who went to the game Saturday. Said one ND fan after the game was mocking NIUā€™s admittance rate, to them. No class and never learned to lose gracefully.

I can never root for ND. Growing up in the Chicago area all the newspapers (when I used to read them) were, ā€œNotre Dameā€, ā€œNotre Dameā€, ā€œNotre Dameā€. It was sickening how biased they were. And then there was the NBC contract (or whatever) making it the Notre Dame network, undeservedly. Notre Dame, the myth, donā€™t believe it. They usually field a good team but are always overrated. They would be a middle-of-the-pack team in the Big Ten. When PSU joined the Big Ten, Paterno was happy because he was confident PSU would win the Big Ten title most of the time (I donā€™t have a reference just my failing memory but I am pretty sure I read that somewhere). That didnā€™t work out and neither would that happen if ND joined. And ND knows it (I mean the ones who would make such a decision, not the fans).

As a Catholic school kid from Southern Illinois I always rooted for Notre Dame. Then I got to U of I and subsequently to Chicago, realized the fans were insufferable and did a complete 180.
