Typically, when a team is forced to move into a temporary facility for a season or two, those home games seem weird and unnatural, but I don’t know, watching Northwestern play on a lacrosse field before maybe 8000 fans who are seated on scaffold metal bleachers feels perfectly correct and fitting, they should seriously consider going with this setup permanently.
it’s like they are playing at a high school field

I really can’t recall a college team ever playing at a temp facility like this .

8,000 fans, of which about half seem to be wearing Miami red is also right on point.

Saw on Fox News that Champaign was flooded. What part of Champaign? At least they didn’t play today.

The temporary space is absolutely ludicrous. If they wouldn’t, or couldn’t, rent more dates at Wrigley or Soldier Field, why didn’t they at least go to a nearby HS field that could be temporarily expanded for a couple years, like Evanston Township or New Trier? At those locations they could get 10,000-12,000 seats between the end lines. Just wacky.

I thought this stadium was supposed to make it virtually impossible for the opposing team to have a lot of fans.

Golf's Big Ten team (population 514) needs to step up its game.

Schiano and Pittman both made asses of themselves by scoring TDs on the last play of the game in blowout wins. The Howard coach was pretty upset in the post-game handshake.
The Howard coach shouldn't have been calling timeouts with only a minute to go to get the ball back. If he just let the clock run, it's over. He wanted his team to play the game out, which is fine and admirable. Rutgers had their third team in. It'll probably be one of the only times that those guys get tick this season. Is Schiano supposed to tell those guys that they shouldn't play hard? They sweat their asses off all summer to not try and score? The Howard coach was dead wrong. Don't schedule a P5 game if you don't want that totally predictable outcome.
