Contreras officially done for the rest of the season. Medical evaluation earlier today determined he needs at least two more weeks of healing before resuming baseball duites.

While I know that's the official reason they gave, I wouldn't be surprised if the team decided to just shut him down for the rest of the season since they basically are done in terms of any playoff hopes.

Skenes has three losses this year and two are to the cardinals
If only he could hit and give himself some run support (3 runs in 3 games)

23 K, 1 BB with 1.31 ERA

Cardinals should trade for him.....go from an Ace to #4 starter in no time :ROFLMAO:

THAT'S A WINNER !!!!

Cardinals with a 3-1
victory and the first 2 in a row over the Pirates.....

Walker with a homer and Helsley with another save....

That was an absolute bomb off of Walker's bat.

1. lets not let a late season push, (which i haven't seen yet)
keep the eyes on the prize. (changing out the manager and
front office personnel)

2. Walker should have gotten another 100 AB's at the MLB
level this year so we could see what we have. Now we go into
next year with more unknowns.

I know several want Goldie gone, but I would like him back. The main reason for this is defense. He still is a top defensive 1st baseman and he saves a lot of errors and makes tough plays.

I put something on here months ago when he was struggling. 100% agree with you

He might not hit at MVP level anymore but his playing level at 36 is still better than majority of the guys on our roster. I would take a 37-year-old Goldy next season over a 28-year-old Luken Baker every day. If they would want to platoon Goldy/Burleson at 1B based on pitching matchups I could even live with that if trying to transition players. Burleson is awful against LHP, Goldy is bad against RHP.
