I don't want to seem like a Monday morning QB, but why does it appear like questionable lineups are on the court too often? I don't understand why when the game is on the line certain players are sitting on the bench.

Adjustments, or lack there of, are a weak point for UI basketball.

The offense needs to completely run through Domask with Shannon and Hawkins as your next options. By far the best player we have on the court.

Smaller quicker guards get good looks vs our bigger guys. Even TSJ and Ty aren't as quick as Smith or other guards that just us. We may need to play a smaller quicker guy like
Nico or Dre to at least try to stay on those type of guys. BU did it some with Nico tonight and vs Iowa and I dont recall Smith getting those when nico was chasing him.

Great effort by the Illini tonight..........played a great 1st half , but the second half seemed like a different defensive scheme and it hurt us big time..........

good move by BU to put TSJ on B. Smith as he was stifled in the 1st half...........not so much in the second half........Smith with the gesture about a ring on his finger to the crowd was BUSH league........

too many loose balls that we couldn't corral and ended in points for purdont......Jones was silent until that late 3 pointer.......We played our hearts out but came up a little short.......

I wanted this game so much for the seniors but we just need to regroup and get some roadkill against the idiots.......

comes down to winning and losing .............2 three's they made were on loose balls and we didn't get them............
you pick your poison with them............they had one 3 at the half......we will get them at the Final Four......
it's the little plays that beat you..........
we had 2 wide open 3's late and missed them..............
relationships made by all involved are lifetime relationships and that is so important.............
our season is still in front of us and the idiots are on the bubble so it will be a good game.........
we have been gearing up for the NCAA tourney all season long and we will address the little things.................

Donasking losing his grip going up for a dunk and then the Gillis three killed us and Harmon missing a wide open look with a great pass from Domask. Purdue shooters made em from 3 and really just Quincy and one from Goode for us was the difference.

My thoughts:

3 ball killed us in the 2nd half. I thought doubling edey at the start of the half got them in rhythm.

Tsj didn't look right from the start. Not sure if he's hurt or if it was just the two fouls getting him out of rhythm.

Thought dain should have been in the game instead of Amani.

We got beat at home. We just can't lose that game. I've been all in on this team all year. I've thought this team is our best chance to go deep in the tournament in a very long time. Im not sure about that anymore. Very disappointing!!

Guys, complain all you want about the decision to double Edey out of halftime, but we were winning by 2 with 3:25 and then:

Loyer made a 3
Harmon missed an open 3
Loyer made a jumper
Shannon missed a layup
Smith missed a jumper, but they got the board, Loyer was fouled and made 2 FT

That’s a 7-0 run in 2 mins. Ball game.

Purdue made plays at the end. Illinois’ veteran players didn’t.
