Why would they rest a top 2 wide out against a top 10 team?I just assume they’ll probably rest Franklin- This is going to be the Malik Elzy coming out party!!!

He was limping badly after the game even though he went back in-I would just rest him for the next couple weeks so he can heal- I’d play a 100% elzy over a 70% FranklinWhy would they rest a top 2 wide out against a top 10 team?
I thought you were joking initially. He was limping badly after the game even though he went back in-I would just rest him for the next couple weeks so he can heal- I’d play a 100% elzy over a 70% Franklin
That is some extremely good news. You never know how people are going to feel the day after. Having a still healthy team going into this game is huge.
If it were anyone other than Penn State (basketball). It'll take some time to shake those thoughts. In stark contrast to the Husker board before last Friday's game, I am seeing quite a lot of respect on the PSU message board I checked out. Sure, a lot of them think they will win (if our #9 Illini basketball team were hosting #19 Penn State in the House of 'Paign, would we not expect to win??), but they are giving us our due and then some.
Agreed. They think they'll win (completely normal fan thoughts), but the majority of them do have concerns about this one. Most also agree with us that the line is ridiculous. PSU fans for the most part seem to think that we're going to be a big test for them and you're not seeing a whole lot of the same "Illinois is a cakewalk, we're going to blow them out" energy that a lot of Nebraska fans had. They definitely seem to be taking our team seriously and you can tell there's a nervous energy there. Now we have to go in there and play the part. And I'll say the same thing I said before we played Nebraska, the most important thing that we can do is take an early lead, hopefully on our first drive and not fall behind by 2 or more scores early. If we can keep this to a one possession game at halftime, that nervousness from PSU will only build from there. And if we tie it or pull ahead in the 4th quarter, Luke just has that look that he's going to take us on a long drive and close it out. Gotta play smart and not fall behind early and we'll give ourselves a chance. Man, if we could make this happen...In stark contrast to the Husker board before last Friday's game, I am seeing quite a lot of respect on the PSU message board I checked out. This. If nothing else, you need to make the defense account for him. If they think they can just double up PB and make our other receivers beat them, that'll make it tougher for our offense. You want them second guessing for at least a half of football.I thought you were joking initially.
If Franklin can play, then he needs to. There is a bye week to heal up. Maybe he won't get as many snaps, but you can't sit a top 2 receiver in prime time against a top 10 team.
remind me, is Boyer more of a pass catching threat compared with Arkin or its just good to get healthy at the position? That is some extremely good news. You never know how people are going to feel the day after. Having a still healthy team going into this game is huge.
Yep, he's going to need to speed up his clock a bit. Thankfully, our playcalling has some variety on who our safety valve options can be.My #1 concern for this game is Luke's handling of pressure. He still waits a bit too long to get rid of the ball or take off if it's not a designed run. If he can limit the tackles for loss, I think it's going to be a very close game!

Not all TE's can be Kelce types.... I'd be perfectly happy if the Illini TE's combined could average 3-5 catches/game and 10-15 yds total..... especially if they are 3rd or 4th down and short yardage situations.Boyer is thought of as a blocker, but he's pretty darn coordinated and has good hands. definitely not a big YAC guy though. it's definitely good to have him back
you might want to drive 5 miles south to Joe’s on Weed St . biggest Illini bar in the cityLooks i’m going to be in north chicago dropping my kid off saturday. Does anyone know of a good sports bar for game watching near lincoln and bertaue avenue?
