Michigan

Cheaters. They should be forced to forfeit all games they scouted illegally. Typical Michigan.

FIFA handled Canada cheating in women soccer by banning the coaching staff. Why can’t the NCAA. It is pretty clear scUM coaching staff knew what was going on

What's new...?

Absolutely...

suspending/banning/firing Moore might disrupt UM football, but I think it might actually be best to leave him there, as I do not think he is capable of maintaining their recent success. I could be wrong there but it’s a careful what you wish for kind of thing. I don’t want a high profile and proven coach going there. Something like nick saban coming out of retirement. At one point they wanted les miles, I’d be ok with that one.

Deleting incriminating text messages should definitely fall under lack of institutional control. People are so stupid (See Hilary Clinton private email server case). Nothing you do via email or on cell phone is private or deletable. If there was any integrity at UM than the AD and the HC Moore should both be fired.

Not much will happen to scUM... they're an important piece in the B1G and CFP picture and a favorite of the NCAA... When you're a valuable piece of the whole, the whole cannot afford your absence.... slap on the wrist, a couple of game suspensions.. max...

And how is this justified? What does it take to trigger meaningful punishment. Apparently anything goes? That’s the message being sent.
Actually, it's more a function of the NCAA being pretty meaningless at this point... When almost everything they do gets challenged in court, and those courts rule against you, it's pretty clear that their 'rules' are meaningless... Making them meaningless...

As a fan of Illinois and Alabama I have mulitple reasons to dislike them.

Seems like in the revenue sports, the conferences can take care of themselves. And if we're being honest, it's not good for business to hurt a conference member unless there's a major public outcry.

Can the NCAA make any of their sanctions stick anymore?
Systems of accountability are under attack across the board, by the cheaters. That's why the correct response to crappy enforcement is to fix the process of enforcement, rather than attacking the system itself.

Improvement. It's a process, not an event.
