Yep, you had to wear orange. I was tight on time, had to hustle home from work to get my orange and get to the game. I got a speeding ticket in the process . Some very poor Champaign County police work. :D

That seems to have waned with fashion trends in the last 10-15 years, though. I would at least be curious what a "navy out" at Memorial Stadium would look like. While not quite a monolithically navy crowd, this old photo of a Bears MNF game the year they played in Champaign might give us a taste of what it could look like:

I feel like for a night game, that could actually look really cool and intimidating.

EDIT: Tracked down a picture of that random basketball game in 2012 where we did a "Blue Out" at Assembly Hall, lol ... not as cool for hoops, I must admit:

Blue Outs too dark IMO, both sports

I don't have a problem with doing a blue out once in a blue moon (heh heh heh). Mackey Arena is plenty intimidating with their black outs. But certainly it doesn't have the same effect as all orange or striped.

Yeah, I certainly would not want this to be a common occurrence (if we even have one at all). If we ever did this, I would want it to be a primetime night game vs. a Big Ten opponent in late October or November (when many fans default to navy anyway via jackets or sweatshirts) every 3-4 years. The only certain we should have is an "orange out" for our first exciting opponent of the year so the weather is nice enough to ensure fans can all wear orange.

Will Tuttle or Orji be the starting QB……will be interesting to prepare for this one.

It very well may open Illinois -3.5.
Ha, THAT'S too far.

It's contingent on us not playing the way I feel in my bones we're going to play against Purdue, I hate even talking like this, but something like Michigan -6 would seem more appropriate.

Why am I scared of this Michigan team running away from anybody if I'm Vegas? We're halfway through the season, I know what I'm looking at.

How far does a 2 loss Michigan team drop in the polls?
Honestly, no clue. They will be ranked because of the name on the jersey alone. Wouldn't surprise me if both Michigan and USC dropped into the 20s.

Michigan could easily be 3-3 or 2-4 (escaped at home against both USC and Minnesota).

The only thing that has me worried is that Michigan has a bye next week.

We're getting angry and desperate opponents with nothing to lose the next two weeks.
I agree, but Michigan is starting to lose the facade of being a great team. A couple narrow escapes and a couple losses. They aren't last year's team and maybe they are starting to realize it as well. They are prone to giving up early leads, teams just have to hold on.

As far as Purdue goes, you just have to not even give them a sniff of a chance early and it will probably be game over by half. Bret hates Walters and this could be a turning point for Purdue to salvage something. A lot to lose for us, nothing to lose for them.

Kind of disappointed they fell before our game. Wanted to catch them off guard and overconfident. Hopefully we can still just prove to be straight up the better team.
Same here, I actually liked our chances better if they had 1 loss vs 2.....

Is that true?

Matt things Indiana might have stole Big Noon which I wouldn’t mind.
I would prefer. 2:30 is the perfect kickoff time.

I thought no one knows which network hasfirst pick in any week? CBS and not Fox may have first pick that week. But I am with the other poster. I’m hoping it is 2:30 and not 11
