Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

If it's smart, why do you hate it?
Lets see:

Who likes losing weight?
Monitoring their credit?
Paying their bills?
Seeing a lawyer to get you legal documents written?

I don’t come here to reminisce about campus food of the past. I come for recruiting news. Start a thread somewhere else for your food talk.

One of the best football seasons and BB season starts next week so this must be a glitch in the Matrix. This is like June in the offseason talk.

Is this our Loyalty Ole Miss exhibition?

I can certainly tell you that I am NOT an Every Day Guy right now as I sit here skipping the gym and eating leftover wedding cake for the 4th day in a row.

The personality of the football board and the basketball board are different, and this thread in particular is like a hyper-distillation of the difference.

Interesting how stuff like that works.

Anyway, RIP Zorba's

I've observed over the years that for football fans football is Serious Business whereas hard-core basketball fans are generally pretty weird.

Yeah I've noticed during football offseason the football board is almost dead besides the occasional recruiting news, whereas the basketball thread during basketball offseason is just as lively, if not more lively, as during the season.

Didn’t have a Friday class my last seven semesters of Undergrad, and spent many a hungover Friday morning/afternoons walking to Maize to start my weekend. Never failed.
went to hcc for two years prior to illinois but between the 2 i never had a class before 10am. only ever registered for one at 8:30 because the 1pm session was full; dropped it after attending once. at hcc, i know i never had a friday class and not sure i was able to maintain at illinois.

also, i don't remember maize at all. am i too young or too old?

because I don't know the team. I don't get to see anyone improve. I don't have that player you really love anymore, because it's a revolving door.

I've said many times, this revolving door only works if you win. If fans don't really know the team, and they don't win, that's a quick path to apathy. If you don't really know the guys, but you win, people will get over it.

And actually, I personally don't know if all these transfers is a great idea. This year will go a long way to tell the story. In 22-23, the team didn't mesh. There was enough talent to win a lot of games, but the season was a disappointment to most. Last year was obviously great, but how much of that was due to 5th year Terrence Shannon? I think we have more talent on paper this year than any other year. What will happen? Does it take a more than 1 season to really get great? Does it take an AA? Or are we going to be able to bring in 3-5 new starters every year and sustain success? We'll have a much better answer to those questions in March.
