you plan your roster to win as fast as you can . nfw can you rely on an 18 or 19 year old to stick with a decision 12-18 months out
So my uneducated guess is that we are probably out on Watkins, now, based on how I read Indy’s post. I take “heading overseas again” to mean another actual trip, and it seems very unlikely to me that Brad and/or other staff would make a second trip over without strong confidence in landing someone (who seems to be the “primary target”). And if we land either of the overseas targets that have been mentioned, then it would effectively rule out Watkins.
I’m interested to see how it plays out.

There isn't such a thing as developmental guys anymore.
Well, the athletic department can't do a one day contract for NIL so definitely not a three year.
The NIL collectives could enter into multi year deals for NIL. The problem is that it's one sided since (wink-wink) the NIL contracts have absolutely nothing to do with playing time at the institution. Hence we got the Skyy situation. So obviously, with no ability for reciprocity on the player's side the NIL groups aren't going to go multi-year.
This also seems to be ripe for challenge in the courts. More importantly, it could probably get pretty easily changed by the NCAA which I believe is the reason the "no play to pay" aspect of this exists.
Not in P5 schools that have aspirations at a deep tourney run at least. I think that's reflected in our current coaching staff who are all big game hunters. The Valleys and directional schools are for devo guys now. Play great, catch somebody's eye and transfer up for a nice bag.
I think we have a huge hole at SG right now. Tre White is a 3/4 and Jake Davis is a 3/2 that likely isn't ready for significant minutes. Our guards right now are Boswell and DGL. That's it.
If Miami can do it I am sure it can be done

To many freshman equals problems. Give me 2 freshman every year try to retain what you can and fill in with the portal.

Yes, limit them to one free transfer. If they choose to transfer again then they have to sit out a year like it used to be. That would slow a lot of this down.
