Kadary had a dominate game against UConn when they beat them this year 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 8 steals! I'm just saying - that would be nice

The Beautiful Game Futbol GIF by World Cup

I’ve seen a few references to Serbia.

FYI, Tomislav is Croatian. They speak Croatian. Beautiful country on the Adriatic. Game of Thrones was filmed there.

Serbia is landlocked and they speak Serbian.

Serbia and Croatia have been separate countries since Yugoslavia broke up in 1991.
And they don't like each other much. So we need to get it right.

Given our track record of failing miserably at basic name spelling, I really hope we can improve and avoid insulting our new famILLy member.

I get it. I share the concern too.

There will never be a perfect lineup. All rosters contain compromises. But ONE of them will be the compromise that wins it all. Envisioning that, from a new-built roster is where excellence lies. I want Coach Underwood to have that magical insight.
Yeah, agree. Didn’t mean it as a criticism but something we’ll need to figure out.

Add a fast wing, one man fast break and it changes the speed concern. Kadary has some of that.

- Purdue and IU are going to get the preseason hype (Still not convinced by IU, but they did add a ton of talent)

- A bit shocked that MSU didn't add anyone at the 5. Can't see them as contenders because of that

- USC is a wild card

- Not really worried about UM, OSU, and Maryland despite their offseason overhauls
I am not buying the PU hype yet

They were a different team when Edey wasn’t on the court. They also lost Jones Gillis and Morton. No additions yet from the portal

I think there is a lot of talent in the Big Ten and it will be who plays the best as a team that will win it

I think we need another guard for depth and a wing

Not according to the Internet
Harvard says:
"Contemporary Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian are spoken by about 17 million people and are nearly identical to each other in vocabulary and grammar, though they use different alphabets."

Just saw Cedric Coward portal video, I agree he would look good in orange and blue. Looks like a pro, lots of length for a SG, 6-6. Built like Storr, likely not as explosive leaper but he is a good athlete. Shoots high 3pt percentage, quick release, needs little room and time. Can play "booty ball".

I say he looks like a pro because of what he can do in a 6-6 frame (shoot, pass, dribble, defend). Possibly others are rated higher, but his game looks to translate to NBA level. Only concern is competiton, lots of those "Moutain West/Big Sky" teams. But I have seen enough, I would take.
Yeah I'd have to imagine that both Coward and Casey Jones would follow David Riley to Washington State but they are still in the portal while 3 other teammates have already committed to follow Riley.

Think Coward is in the draft process but imagine he will return. Would love him as underrated signing paired with a bigger name.

That does make me chuckle, the thought of Illini fans jumping like trout at tied flies.

But I actually just think the Insiders(TM) are being generous. Like everyone else, I am grateful that they take the time to feed us.
Oh I 100% appreciate it !!! I hope I didn't come across as different. When I said personal and entertainment, it was more the hints or clues, and then watching us try to figure it all out. lol I do apologize to the insiders if they read that differently.

It’s much more likely that Hum was recruited to play the 4 and small ball 5
That is what I was thinking until I binged on Hum video. He pretty much did everything except post up and set ball screens.

He showed ball handling, passing, shooting, and cutting skills. Looked good as the ball handler in the PnR.

I suppose he can probably be a stretch 4, plus more.

This all feels so weird... Recruiting professional players from overseas to come play college basketball in the US. Each year will be a new squad of mercenaries assembled from all parts of the globe.
Players like Ivisic are less of a professional than a lot of college players are today. They just get paid expenses.

Been gone a few days, catching up. Two things. Short for Tomislav is Tom.

Having a stretch 5 doesn't mean that the center guards him on the arc if Ty is playing and hasn't developed a shot from outside. The opposing center will still be in the paint when Ty is playing. The man who should be guarding Ty will cover the stretch 5 (Tom). If Tom decides to go inside, the center will already be there. Why would that strategy change?

Props to Underwood and Whitman for going out and getting Antigua.

Props to the staff for embracing how recruiting has changed and the portal works. They have planned for it - months in advance.

It's pretty impressive the team they are putting together for basically starting over with only a couple of holdovers.

And, it's no wonder SOME of these dudes are leaving. The recruits they are bringing in are simply better or have higher ceilings.

DAMN IMPRESSIVE
Do we have a Portal war room at Ubben, aside from BUs office. Seems like this needs 1 dedicated assistant just to organize and manage the portal given its sheer numbers and chaotic time constraints. The way of the future it seems.

Interrupting the expert portal analysis to snicker at the Mildcats… just saw a commercial for Rally House, a Chicago-based fan apparel store. The teams they stock are the Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, Illini and… Notre Dame. Ouch for Northwestern, a team that is (sort of) in Chicago. :ROFLMAO:

Also, I feel like the team is shaping up very nicely and am confident Daddy Brad will fill it out with the right fits for us. I renewed my season tickets today, and am ready to love this new team!

Just looking at catch and shoot numbers....K. Richmond ranks very low (2 percentile) and C. Coward (93 percentile) very high. Lathon was in the 60's and Poplar was in the low 70's percentile. When I look at shot motion and release time, very impressed with Coward. He looks like a very confident shooter who needs little time or space. When I look at Richmond, I see a slower motion and lack of fluidity.

Between the 4, I haven't seen enough of Coward to know how he would rank against top competiton and in the big lights but I beleive it would carry over. Poplar might be the safest bet, he had good size (6'5) and best leaper, played against top competiton, solid numbers for shooting, tranisiton, passing. I feel good about Lathon as well, he looked very good against the Illini and shoots a very confident shot.

Richmond, I would pass. To be that alpha scorer you will get the ball often with few seconds in the shot clinic. You have to be able to spot up and shoot or dribble and shoot. His percentile ranking for both are very low. I also mentoned the mechanics, I rather not hope that all gets fixed by next season.

ties will be resolved
I always feel when an insider throws out just little bits or pieces, it's for their own personal entertainment and pleasure. They just sit back and watch us all go crazy over it. lmao ......Maybe even with their buddies saying "watch how these people react from one lil post from me" .

bingo. their nuggets are chum
