How much did Kansas give him? 1 Mill?
It was done in Minneapolis …
Then Mom took over … Ask any coach involved in the recruitment … Including Self …

I thought it was $ 700-750 k..................I am medded up so brain cells are not firing on all cylinders...........I think I read a figure of 850K somewhere?
Misses happen in portal recruitment, too. IMO, this present moderate risks in heavily leaning on the portal but Brad is smart enough to already get us 4 multiple-year transfers so it should be less of a concern next year.I totally agree with some of the points on not sweating missing Storr and Maddox, but it still sucks whiffing on multiple of our supposed top guys.
what in the world was the asking price? GoodnessThey got the girlfriend a spot on the WBB team ...
Kansas never wavered on their original offer ...
Ole Miss took Davis ... Arkansas said we don't want you at the asking price ... Texas was not even recruiting him ... We were not willing to go higher than the offer we gave ...
And in the end ... Kansas was the most $$$ ... Had the girlfriend there ...
Surprised Storr camp didn't wait a little longer considering they came down nearly 500k off their asking price ...
And the details in this long story have remained pretty consistent throughout the process. Thanks for keeping us apprised along the way, Indy & All!!!They got the girlfriend a spot on the WBB team ...

Hawkins will be playing college ball next year. That’s a fact.So if Hawkins is likely to go undrafted or make an NBA roster then why not comeback and get paid well? I can't understand why he wouldn't at least ponder it.
What makes you say that?Hawkins will be playing college ball next year. That’s a fact.

Honestly glad we moved on …
We're talking about dodging bullets by not landing potential 1st team All-Americans. The cope........Count me out on any future PITA parents. Bullet dodged IMO.
I would think it is just tough for the kid to fully come to that conclusion. The really good news is that his parents seem like very supportive and realistic. That will lead to Coleman playing another year in college IMO? I hope it is with Illinois, but I would understand if he went to a place that he felt would better allow him to show NBA teams what he could do in the league. So if Hawkins is likely to go undrafted or make an NBA roster then why not comeback and get paid well? Nah, AJ seems like a pretty faithful guy. Once he commits to something (or somewhere), he's locked-in for the long haul.10 bucks says they break up before the season starts
We have the money. Sounds like we could have had him if Brad wanted him bad enough. This tells me he didn’t, or not for that price. He was coming to Illinois until the mom came in
He doesn't seem to miss much on the players he wants!
Shooting his shotHawkins will be playing college ball next year. That’s a fact.
