Harry Froling was named camp MVP at the NBAs Basketball Without Borders Camp during NBA All Star Weekend in Toronto. This camp included players like Deandre Ayton and Thon Maker.
Thats pretty good then.

If Groce goes the 5th year transfer route for a big man again this off-season, he is all in on thinking he can land a quality big man in the 2017 class. I hope he's right, because if he fails to land an impact guy in the 2017 class, the post position depth on this team will be very scary looking.
Ideally Illinois would find a high school post player to fill a roster spot in the 2016 class to develop. After the 16-17 season, as of right now, they will only have Finke and Black.

That is impressive.
Looks like one of those other guys in the picture is still available. Thon Maker? Maybe we just pick him up as a consolation prize for missing Froling.
I am thinking that, if we haven't done so already, we should try to get back in the Racko recruitment. He has had a great senior year and seems to have gotten over the immaturity issues that have plagued him in the past.
Rakocevic recruiting: St. Joseph’s Nick Rakocevic enters the stretch run of his senior year, a season in which the 6-11 big man has been at times dominating while showing consistent production. As the top uncommitted prospect in the senior class, Rakocevic’s recruitment will only continue to pick up steam.
Rakocevic has taken just one official visit –– to West Virginia last fall –– so he will have four official visits available if he chooses following the season. As this process plays out, narrowing the lengthy list down could be tricky. Miami-Florida, USC and Arizona State have been in constant hot pursuit, with a surplus of others now getting involved in some capacity.
Now it’s a matter of which of those other schools –– Rakocevic is hearing from North Carolina, South Carolina, Auburn, Louisville, Oklahoma, Cal and Providence –– will join the race and be in the mix to the end.
It appears from Henricksen's article today that the Rako to Illinois ship has definitely sailed.

Being out West the last few years and without having taken the time to register until recently I have been really wanting to post this:
Since I don't seek out information on every college and its basketball program I am wondering when this unbelievable barrage of injuries to current players and now recruits becomes a national story. Is any other school going through this kind of misfortune? Please let me know if someone has jumped on the story of this incredible string of bad luck for the Illinois basketball program. It is phenomenal and is now reaching the level of ridiculous. If this becomes any kind of national headline would it necessarily hurt recruiting? Nothing would surprise me currently. Somebody call a priest.....
Thanks,
Love my Illini

We should be looking for 4 after this weekend.
We should be looking for 4 after this weekend.
Maybe we try to get two fifth year bigs? I liked what McLaurin, Ekey, and Thorne brought to the table.
If things stand the way we all think they will I think it's safe to say that Malcolm plays a lot of the 4 again next year. Poor guy

Maybe it is time to rehash the how hard we should have chased Morrow again?
