The helmet doesn't mesh with the rest of the uniform, the orange pants don't look good without a stripe to break them up, and the whole package in general lacks the contrast it needs to pop.
Am I the only one that would absolutely love if this were the new helmet?

However, I do think this would be a VERY cool helmet to bust out on certain occasions like bowl games or, as I suggested, the Mizzou game each year. For your consideration, there is also a pretty good mockup of an orange one below, though I think the white one is cooler:

Not sure if you know something and they are awful, lol, but I am doing this for fun; I will be relatively easy to please as far as the new uniforms go, and I really don't think there are that many ways for them to mess this up. What little insider indications we have seem to be that Bret wants to go more minimalist traditional, and I think a lot of people here would really like that. I highly doubt that they would even waste the time of getting a new traditional uniform that doesn't improve upon the boringness and hideous numbers of our current set, and people like me would like that, too!

Wasn't there also a social media post he made where he has a new version of the helmet that has the stripes "fixed" (at least from my perspective, lol) with the blue on the outside?
I can live with that really like everything except the Illini script helmet, which could be fixed by making the I look more like an I and less like an L.
Still not crazy about the I in Illini but I can look past that because these are pretty much exactly what I have in mind for the new uniforms. They take the classic look we currently have and add some white piping where i think it’s needed. I think/hope we end up with something a lot like these. Can you share where you found these pics?

I'm fine with no script, but that guy's renderings would look 1,000 times better if he just swapped out the bad script for the good one, lol.
