2021 QB commit
How nice is it to get a 2021 commitment already!
I am by no means an expert on QB tech, but his throwing motion looks pretty loose, doesn't use his full body in all his throws. Hella strong arm though. Some of those bullets he threw when he had a wide base were impressive. Only a Junior, nice talentNice get. He got an offer after camping with us in June so we've seen him in person and liked him enough to extend an offer. There was speculation that he would commit back in June.
He threw for 33 TDs this season:

He is teammates and close friends with 4 Star DE Shemar Turner as well:

Another teammate, WR Jaedon WIlson, also visited with Samari back in June and got an offer from us:

Byron Murphy is also on that team but we haven't offered him yet:

I would like Coran to switch positions before transferring.I'm guessing we see a Matt Robinson or Coran Taylor transfer if Spann commits too. That's alot of QBs.

True. I think he has talent and would hate to lose him.But does he want to do that? That's the only question that really matters.
I am by no means an professional gambler but hey I still give it a shot every now and then lolI am by no means an expert on QB tech, but his throwing motion looks pretty loose, doesn't use his full body in all his throws. Does he honestly think he's going to transfer somewhere else, light it up as a QB, and get drafted? Don't think so..... It's more a matter of whether he wants to play ball in college, regardless of position, or if he's perfectly happy getting a degree from UI to propel him into a career as a regular Joe with the lifelong support of fellow UI grads.....But does he want to do that? That's the only question that really matters.
Or maybe he loves playing QB. Wants to play. Goes to a Northern Iowa or Illinois State to get that chance.Does he honestly think he's going to transfer somewhere else, light it up as a QB, and get drafted? Don't think so..... Well, of course that is an option, assuming he is maintaining his grades I am certain a degree from UI will carry more sway than one from NI or ISU though. And there is zero guarantee a transfer leads to a staring QB spot..... Granted, some people make decisions for the short term vs the long term returns. It's their life......Or maybe he loves playing QB. Wants to play. Goes to a Northern Iowa or Illinois State to get that chance.

Taylor would be a great fit for the ISU Redbirds.Reading my mind. Since watching Coran in the IHSA title game he has always been stuck in my head as an Illinois State QB tearing up 1AA guiding the Redbirds to a deep playoff run.
If he isn’t going to see the field for us and that is what he wants I’d be fine if that is his destiny. Hopefully not before next years opener though
You got it was a whiff because he is gonna wait until February? Doyle has been on campus numerous times this year wouldn’t worry to much about that staff was there for his championship game. Not a ton of buzz coming out of the OVs this weekend. shipton a plan b juco seems on board. wiggles gunna wait Until feb so likely a whiff there. no AJ or Doyle on campus. Hopefully better news to come but not much good so far
