Wondering, for those of you that I learn from, due to you knowing significantly more than I. Today is the start of IL HS football, any chance that someone else gets picked up from the HS ranks, or are the remaining spots (out of 25) reserved for transfers?

I'm guessing there's still a lot to shake out before summer camp starts. I'd be very surprised if there weren't multiple transfers in and out during/following the spring. I'd also guess we take at least 1 more HS player, just due to the weirdness of the HS season this year. No inside info, just guesses.

sure its possible, but I really doubt the really good players from the graduating class of 2021 even participate much in this spring season. I tend to think its more about letting the Frosh-Soph-Jr class players get a chance to practice and play.

Could there be some player who's a current year Sr , just stand out and get noticed ? yea, but those odds are small. One has to think the remaining scholly or two is for a player in the transfer portal or one who will be come mid April.

Austin Brown from Johnston City has blown up. I see we were a little late to the party on the offer, but does anyone know if we have a shot here?
I'm from the Southern Illinois area and this kid is legit. His high school coach used to coach at where I went to high school and I know he attended several coaching clinics at U of I when Beckman was the coach. I would say we are in a good spot with this one. Only downfall is that the Black Diamond is not the greatest conference.

If this kid has really developed physically like it appears he has, he could be a real contributor. Looks like he was used on both offense and defense in H.S., so I wonder what position he may end up playing. At worst, he could be valuable on special teams.

I like getting about the Jordan Lynch - Coach Kane connection at MC - will be interesting to see how he gets rated. Was headed to Penn - can't have enough smart players.

Did I see he's going to be a blueshirt?

has anyone been able to confirm he is a regular full scholarship player that will be on the eligible roster this summer?

I like the fact BB is getting this lad from the Catholic League . We need to be getting at least 2, if not 3, of the top 5 players from there every year.

He is a blueshirt addition. So he will be on scholarship when he sets foot on campus this summer, however he will not count against the 2021 Scholarship count but rather the 2022
