Illinois at Penn State, Saturday, September 28th, 6:30pm CT, NBC

Huge huge opportunity here. The nation will be tuning in for this. Win it and we're viewed nationally as a legitimate contender out of the B10 and that @PSU win will hold more value due to name recognition than necessarily how good PSU even is this season. Lose badly and we're relegated to the well that was a nice story to start 4-0 but they can't compete with the big boys category from a national perspective.

Again, this will be a very difficult game to win, but there is a path for us to get it. Hoping we can make it happen. 3 primetime games on national TV in 5 games... I still don’t believe it. What a magical start to the season thus far. May it continue in Happy Valley

Penn State hasn’t played anyone yet. There’s no measure how good they actually are. Our guys are battle tested and battle hardened.

Beaver Stadium won’t throw anything at Illinois that Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium didn’t. Our guys weren’t rattled Friday night and they won’t be in Saturday.

Everything the experts said about Kansas, everything about Nebraska, they’ll say about Penn State. Our guys proved them wrong about those two teams. Why not Penn State?

The last time our guys were in Beaver Stadium, they came home victors. Why not again? Why not indeed?

Always thought it odd Penn State having a "white out" when it's the visiting team that wears white in CFB.

if PSU is in dark jerseys , we will be in white . that’s 99% guaranteed .

not saying it’s never occurred , but I can’t recall the last time a game was played with two teams in colored jerseys

The only two games I traditionally see both teams in colored jerseys are Georgia-Florida (neutral site game) and USC-UCLA (crosstown game). Some non-playoff bowl games also do this.

The only game I could see Illinois wearing orange if the other team wears dark is the Northwestern game.

But, if the home team wants to wear white, they just need the visitor’s blessing. If that means Illinois can go all-orange under the lights, I could see them saying OK.

Even if we lose we will still be in a good spot. Purdue the following week. They always give us a hard time but possible to go 5-1 for the Michigan game.

Our offense's ability to eat up clock and put together long 6+ minute drives, plus our D limiting big plays really shortens up the game. That gives us a chance against pretty much anybody.

Also, don't forget we were playing pretty solid football against them last year but Luke got hit by the turnover bug.

In person it wasn’t an issue — the colors were distinct enough. But when I got home and saw the replay on TV… yeah, it was bad. The contrast didn’t translate through the technology of the day.
