Part of problem is Bostic and Hobbes while good rebounders have average post moves due to lack of athleticism.
They are good on the offensive boards but still slow at times on the defensive boards. Hobby/Shoup-Hill/Bostic foot speed and checking out every play are not consistent.
Dolan showed last game she is very effective driving to the hoop 5 for 7 but our guards rarely pass her the ball. Mckenzie also has some nice medium game moves. JMO but our guards are shoot first. Unless they grow 6" taller they are always going to be limited driving the lane.
Part of it comes with game speed and experience. Dolan was also passive at times in the beginning. The game is slowing down for her and it shows the more time she gets on the court. Her game thrives being the first one off the bench and not playing only 5 minutes a game.
Our guards are shoot first and the playmakers. As much as the guards shoot too much the rest of the ladies stand around a bunch as well. Like you mentioned, Hobby and Bostic are limited on post moves. Bryant is the most consistent of the bunch but we aren't a good outside shooting team. If you don't have a consistent outside shooting game or inside post game than it is hard to run offense. JMO but am fine with Cook/Dolan/Bryant trying to create plays to setup easier shots for everyone. It does bring about turnovers, missed shots, etc but kind of the route we have to go until more playmakers get on the team.
