So far this season has produced 3 gems of games. Where I was like ‘they’re going to do it!’.. and they did. 10-2 can happen. But unfortunately there’s a part of me that says so can 6-6.

I’m setting the bar high, and it’ll be disappointing to lose any of the remaining games, at least immediately afterwards. 9-3 or 8-4 is good, but the possibly of a 10 win season doesn’t happen often, so finish out with 4 in a row!

Of the last four games:
4 are winnable
4 are losable
2 are REALLY winnable
2 are REALLY losable.

Just a matter of which Illinois team shows up and whether the players can ignore team history.

Agreed. If the poor finish from two years ago wasn't so fresh, I'd feel better. I guess we're playing injury roulette the rest of the way.

But the fact we're sitting on six wins and dreaming of more is exactly the kind of program I wished for in the dark days, so although I'm not satisfied, I'm very, very happy. The future looks competent.

Competence is a key milestone on the road to a good program. It’s what makes watching fun for fans.

Incompetence OTOH won’t fill stadiums or at least leads to walking out / tuning out early. It’s tough to watch repeatedly.

This aged very well.

Have to move the goal posts to when we score more than 17, we are 6-0.
Points almost don’t matter. Just read the postgame thread, it’s all the fans’ fault.

Students have the nerve to sit with their families on Dads Day, rather than fill in the NEZ. Guests have the nerve to buy concessions (monies which at least indirectly help the team) instead of staying glued to their seats. People kicked in the crotch for 40 years have the nerve to be anxious and deflated rather than cheer uproariously for a run up the middle for no gain.

/s obviously. But so tired of this trope.

As far as the roster - any OL that could be moved to the DL to bolster that group? I know Clayton Leonhard moved to TE, so anyone like a Dez Shuster or K Wiggenton that could make the switch? I believe TeRau was an OL at NW.

We're 6-3, and many here, including all the experts across the country, had us with a maximum of 5 wins this season.

Minny was disappointing, but we had a chance to win/tie and missed it. That said, we didn't lay an egg and get blown out.

We'll get a couple more wins, and next year, we'll make another jump. This is light years ahead of where we have been as a program, and we will continue to build on this as long as we keep Coach B and make incremental jumps in NIL. Enjoy this, and stop expecting us to be a playoff-caliber program quite yet.

USC is 4-5, Washington is 5-4, Oklahoma is 5-4, Wisky is 5-4, Nebraska is 5-4, Auburn 3-6, and Florida State is 1-8. This is not easy, but we're making huge strides. Even attendance is up, and throw out the Eastern game, and the average is over 57,000.
