I get it , but hard to imagine Arkin being any worse of a pass catcher than Laughery
Did I miss something? He has four receptions in his career, and probably not many more targets... or is this based on one drop?

the wide open drop

more of me just being snarky , but some programs banish guys for that .

BB won’t do that

Need to keep throwing to Laughery to get him comfortable in the passing game out of the backfield. That was a great play call and walk-in TD 99% of the time
agree chase had some killer wheel routes, rb out of the backfield can be deadly if utilized well

I've been fairly unimpressed with Laughery outside the drop. He runs like he's waiting to be tackled, rather than trying to avoid being tackled.

Between that and McCray just not being the same player he once was, I'm worried the RB depth is not at all what it's been billed to be. Valentine looked great against Kansas, but it's a bit much to ask a 180 lb true freshman to be a consistent factor against Big 10 opponents.

eh, Michigan & OSU used to get fat playing true frosh running backs

it’s the one position that you really don’t have to do alot of coaching unless it’s third down & a passing situation and you need him to block or run routes

Any insight on potential start time(s) for the Purdue game at home??

Thanks in advance!

There are two potential top 10 matchups that week with Ohio State/Oregon and Penn State/USC. I'd assume Ohio State/Oregon is the NBC Saturday Night game as I can't imagine either of those games being the Fox Big Noon kickoff games with both games on the west coast. The other Saturday B1G games that week are pretty meh (Washington/Iowa, Minnesota/UCLA, and Wisky/Rutgers) so I could see the Illini ending up as either the 11:00 or 2:30 games. The Friday night game that week is NW/Maryland.

Purdue going on national TV and putting up that performance yesterday likely means they will not be back on national TV unless their opponent is going to bring big numbers (UM, OSU, etc.).
