As the post said, don’t lose as a 19-point favorite next week, and we are likely ranked. 😎

We shouldn’t be ranked yet. We beat a good opponent but think it is still too early for us to have earned it

I think Nebraska got a huge boost handling a weak CU team
Agree... Tom Fornelli on Cover3 mentioned quickly that we shouldn't be in the top 25 yet, and I totally agreed with him as well...

It's still early but one of the writers for the ESPN bowl projection had us playing in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The match-up was against Kansas (though I'd assume that would change since there's not normally rematches like that during bowl season).

In fairness to Nebraska, they look mighty good thus far, plus, that team had Top 25 talent the past several years, problem was Scott Frost had no idea how to coach them up, instill discipline, nor not piss down his own leg and he's gone now. There really is no excuse for Nebraska not to be a Top 25 team and any half decent coach should've had them competing for B10 West Division Champs year in and year out.

Just to keep a healthy outlook on the rest of the year, we’re ranked 49 in SP+ and 51 in KFord.

What’s nice is, we are moving in a positive direction. We started the year ranked 63 in KFord, so we’ve moved up 12 spots in 2 games, whereas teams like Oregon have moved down 9 spots in the first 2 games.

Still though, we have 10 games remaining and in those 10 games, we play 6 teams ranked ahead of us and just 4 teams ranked below us. So we’re still on pace for ~6’sh wins.

I’m sure we’ll win at least one we’re dogs in, but it’s also possible to drop one we’re favored in as well.

Would love to at minimum have a winning season and go 7-5 or better.

Took a look at all of the first down plays during the Kansas game.

6 pass plays - 30 yards
16 run plays - 43 yards

The staff has one game to figure this out before we play 3 top 10ish teams, plus a Nebraska team that’s looking good.

13-0, big ten champs, and 7 seed Texas can’t move the ball against a stout Illini defense in a frigid champaign playoff game.

There’s a world where the staff watches the film and doubles down on the running because they saw the Kansas defense was gassed in the 4th quarter. It was a close game throughout, so they were able to keep chipping away on the ground.

I know stars and where you played before has nothing to do with playing time here, but does anyone know if there is more to the story with Brooks? Is it as simple as being outplayed or is he in the doghouse for some things not known to the public. Either way, very happy with what we are seeing from out DB's, just curious really.

He's a zone corner in a Man to Man scheme.

When Brooks first transferred Werner had an interview with a Texas sports writer and the Texas guy said Brooks was amazing when in man coverage, but struggled with zone concepts. So that is shocking to hear he is considered better at zone here.
Yeah this sounds like a bunch of smoke being blown up our butts. Something’s up.
