It also looks super cool which just adds to the list of answered complaints from fans that the Gameday Experience people have put major efforts towards improving. I still think we could find a more unique entrance song, but other than that, the entrance looks like one of the cooler ones in the country now from the two times I've seen it.
I've been thinking lately that Renegade by Styx would be a good hype entry song by a band from Illinois. They play it between the 3rd and 4th quarter for Steeler games and the fans get crazy loud.

The game experience production team definitely has taken steps in the right direction. Last night was very enjoyable. Stadium surround sound and the students in the east should be next!

Player entrance was awesome!

100% even with a packed and rowdy student section it had very little impact on overall crowd energy. Put them somewhere to influence everybody!

Students were numerous and very energetic. Was great to see that. Rest of the stadium didn't compare, IMHO. Need to keep them coming on weekends throughout the season.

So a popular YouTubers picked us for his first college football version of his schtick:

How Long Can I Stay Inside Illinois Football Stadium?
During the off-season, he does "walk on" vids where he tries to get into and explore stadiums thru unlocked doors. I think he started doing it summer before last season, and we were one of the first ones he tried for that too. Somehow he happened to show up the one day Memorial was actually locked down lol. He has gotten into trouble for some of his vids tho since it is essentially finding gaps in security. I think he may or may not be banned from NFL games now for doing the "how long can I stay" videos.

Semi-related, I love how accessible Memorial is. Sometimes it can be hard to get in, but once you're in, you can get basically anywhere because they don't lock doors for the most part. And when I say anywhere, I mean it.

Sometime during my time there 1973-1977 we climbed the fence on the horseshoe late night and played touch football on the field. Lucky I didn't break my ankle. May have had a few beers at Dooleys Kams and Illini Inn before.
