I don't know what to do with my hands!
If we can get out of Altmeyer pretty close to what we got from TDV, I'd say so.Wow. Am I jinxing us by saying that pretty much guarantees our return to a bowl?
Agreed. It's all about the QB.If we can get out of Altmeyer pretty close to what we got from TDV, I'd say so.
They might want to hold on to that 13 year old Pontiacthe beauty of NIL can work in our favor - these guys dont have to spend another year driving a 13 year old Pontiac or eating Mac & Cheese or ramen noodles all spring like the old days

TDV had the 39th best QBR last year in CFB. Not saying Altmyer can’t replicate that but I highly doubt we’ve had a QB come close to that since Scheelhaase’s senior year.If we can get out of Altmeyer pretty close to what we got from TDV, I'd say so.
Especially that one. Voted one of the worst cars of all-time. One of my sisters had one. Once when she picked me at the airport I quickly climbed in and ducked down. She said, "what are you doing?". I replied, "I don't want to be seen in this car."
Agree. Dad had one. Hated how it looked. Designed by consensus probably. Despite how it looked (unfortunately) it was very reliable, extending the dislikeEspecially that one. Thanks for link. Interesting to see examples of NIL impact. PWO sounds interesting.
This was my driver's ed car in 2004, school had some sort of deal with a local Pontiac dealership. Having a car where you can't see out the back window is great for a 15 year old.Especially that one. Our school district had a similar set up (Elgin U-46). I learned to drive in an all-new Pontiac 6000.This was my driver's ed car in 2004, school had some sort of deal with a local Pontiac dealership. Having a car where you can't see out the back window is great for a 15 year old.

So, is he jinxing us, or are we going back to a bowl?If we can get out of Altmeyer pretty close to what we got from TDV, I'd say so.
I was at the Pitt game. The weather was cold, wet, and dreary. I believe Pitt had a 98 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown that "iced" the game. QB's were Eason vs. Marino. Everyone thought there would be much more scoring. I worked with a bunch of people from the Pittsburgh area and had to live with that loss for a long time.Interesting observation.
IMO our players have some "unfinished business". We were so close last year to winning B10 west and going to Indy.
2023 QB and RB is a question mark but the rest of the team looks very strong. QB was a question mark coming into 2022 but a strong running game takes a lot of the pressure off. Offensive line is more important than RB for the running game.
I am so pumped for 2023!
Last year reminds me of 1982 season. We finished 7-5. (6-3 in B10). Losses were to #3 Pittsburgh 20-3 , Ohio State 26-21 , Iowa 14-13, Michigan 16-10 and Alabama 21-15. We were one play away in all the losses except for Pittsburgh. In 1983 we got over the hump - beat OSU, Iowa and Michigan to go to Pasadena!
I was at that game as well and remember the weather being sunny and pleasant. My research tells me that neither of us has an accurate memory, although yours is probably better than mine: Weather Underground for September 25, 1982, shows afternoon temperatures of 54 to 56, north wind at about 10 mph, cloudy, and no precipitation all day.I was at the Pitt game. Calvin Hart popped off the screen prior to injury 2 yrs ago. Any hope of more improvememt next year with additional time of recovery?
Center is just as crucial. A good one anchors the entire line. Doug Kramer is sorely missed especially since we still have a big question mark thereAgreed. It's all about the QB.
Oh, and we also need a strong RB Duo that runs for at least 1400 yards.
Thanks! I was also at the game (freshman year), my seats were on the goal line where the recovery took place. For whatever reason, I can (it seems, probably not true) visualize that play exactly - it took a long time with a caravan of blockers for him to score, but I can't remember anything else from that game. Too much whisky from the boda bag?I was at that game as well and remember the weather being sunny and pleasant. But on the rest you are close. The 98-yard return by a Pitt lineman turned an imminent 10-0 Illini lead into a 7-3 Pittsburg lead. After that play, which occurred in the second quarter, Eason threw several interceptions, and the #19 Illini never scored again. (Good article in New York Times.)

I remember that game - lots of hype going into it with Eason vs Marino, then it turned into a defensive battle. Not sure how Pulozzi or whatever the d-lineman's name made it all the way to the end zone without stopping for oxygen. On a side note, I've lived in the south long enough to have forgotten you can have days that chilly in September.I was at that game as well and remember the weather being sunny and pleasant.
