Illini Basketball 2024-2025

So, for kicks and giggles, my brother and I held an Illini basketball 2024-25 draft. It's just the two of us, we go head to head each game with the players we've drafted. Scoring is points, rebounds and assists. We each pick four of our six players to use each game. It's for bragging rights with nothing else on the line. Like I said... for kicks and giggles.

Having said that, here are the two teams. Given the parameters above, which team do you think is the best?

TEAM B
Ivisic
Johnson
White
Humrichous
Booth
Davis

The draft order went

A - Kasparas
B - Ivisic
B - Johnson

Again, we choose four players to play each game, tabulating points, rebounds and assists.

I would take Team A in the format you chose, but I think in a A vs B game, it might be closer.

I would also pick team A. I just think that the guard heavy lineup allows for filling up the box score better. As mentioned above, in an actual game, It would be interesting.

Same comment. I'll take A given the stat format, but an actual game where both centers are on B would be interesting.

Is the scoring 1pt=1pt, 1reb=1pt, 1ast=1pt? Or are rebs and asts worth 2pts? Or is the winner whoever gets the most in 2 of the 3 categories?

Team A is going to smoke Team B in assists. Team B should beat Team A almost every night in rebounds. Points I like Team A but not as much as I should. I think Team A wins more times this season, but I don't think it'll be dominant. Keep us in the loop on how it goes throughout the season!

My thought is that Isiah Thomas is drafting for B.

Exactly the same, I even had to look it up. Shame on me, but he has already reached single name status in my mind.

Yes, scoring is as youā€™ve listed it. Very simple.

My team is Team B. My brotherā€™s is Team A. After the draft, we both agreed with pretty much everything everyone has said here. I liked his team slightly better. He won the coin flip and had the choice to take the #1 spot or defer. He took #1 to get KJ, knowing heā€™d have to take either Jakstys or a walkon with his final pick.

His team took a slight hit today with Rodgers opting to redshirt. Pretty much his top four will always be in action while Iā€™ll be able to mix and match if necessary. Havenā€™t even tipped for game one and the drama has begun.
