"The NCAA ruled Ivisic will lose one year of eligibility, so he becomes a sophomore in Champaign. He will pay a charity as part of an NCAA ruling."

Interesting, the Oregon State player who was just cleared today will be sophomore also, though I’m pretty sure he hasn’t played in college. Maybe that’s a new go to thing on the players who have more complicated eligibility issues.

Be great not to play small ball like we did last year. Definitely hurt us at times

I cannot believe I am about to say this, but the NCAA did an excellent job here.

Removing a year of eligibility to "true up" Ivisic with the level and compensation he'd been playing at in the Balkans is an extremely logical and sensible way to handle this kind of case in the NIL era.

You could argue for two years rather than one but I'll take it.

Pretty fair decision by NCAA, don't have the particulars. But imagine the main issue was playing for a pro Euro team and getting paid, which is basically what you can describe NCAA Men's basketball. Considering his age and amount he played losing a year and paying a charity is an equitable decision IMHO.

Looking forward when the NCAA uses common sense and fairness across the 320 teams that play DIV 1 BBall.

Sorry to burst anyone's religious convictions here, but the NCAA just made an unprecedented decision breaking new ground in leniency around player eligibility in both substance and timing to maximally benefit ILLINOIS Basketball, when that same player's twin brother was held out to the detriment of KENTUCKY Basketball.

You all have been learning the wrong lessons from old Jerry Tarkanian quotes all this time.

Gritty, with our 2 one-and-done freshmen lottery picks, we are the new Kentucky.
