Neither are gonna happen
Apologies if this has been discussed before but I’ve seen some people mention that Domask only played 10 games his sophomore year due to injury and could petition for another year of eligibility. Any chances of that happening?

So will the situation this year with TSJ put a hold on a potential home and home with Kansas soon?

A federal judge grants us a 3-4 week reprieve in discussing why our All American candidate isn’t playing, and so we take up the discussion on when/where the best coach we’ve had in a couple decades is headed. Never change IllinoisLoyalty.

Edit: P.S. a five star recruit also committed today.

Bardo's Breakdown.. He has a really good view on everything with TSJ. I totally forgot Bardo went through his own situation.

Didn’t know Bardo had a weekly podcast, but this was an authentic & insightful listen. Miles better than his color commentary :ROFLMAO: (which he touched on at 51:15).

Also highly recommend listening to his 4-minute take on Mrs DGL drama at 39:20 mark. Spot on.

Here's what I can say ...

Trilly does talk to a lot of people who are plugged in nationally, regionally, AAU-wise, agent wise ... He's got a LOT of elite sources ... Brad being unhappy is probably what someone told him because of what I will get into below:

Is Brad unhappy ... No ... Would Brad entertain other CBB jobs? Yes ... He has almost every year ...

I was told last week and @illini0440 can confirm this ... Brad's agent was floating his name out there for the Louisville job amongst other jobs he would take versus would not ...

Personally - and I think I can speak for @illini0440 as well and maybe some others feel the same way but I don't think Brad has another rebuild in him ...

Outside of a blue blood or K State ... I really don't see how any program is an upgrade over ours ... You want a raise every year? Done ... You want a new practice facility? Done ... You want your son as an Assistant? Done ... You want more NIL? Done ...

Everything Brad asks for ... Josh finds a way to get the job done and if he can't ... He sits Brad down 1 on 1 and explains why and will do everything in his power to get him the next best thing ...

Brad knows finding that anywhere else is going to be nearly impossible if not impossible ...
Josh is such a great AD. Remember hearing about Guenther throwing a tantrum when Self decided to leave despite it being obvious Self was leaving sooner or later

I do not think it was obvious, and I feel like insiders have insinuated it wasn’t. Frankly, I take Bill at his word that KU was his dream job and the only place he leaves us for.

People forget we hired Lon Kruger away from Florida after he won SEC coach of the year twice in the previous 4 years, and was 2 years removed from a Final Four appearance.

Then hired Self who was one of the hottest coaches after his Elite 8 with Tulsa, and pedigree under Larry Brown and Eddie Sutton. Self was #2 after Kelvin Swampscum declined Guenther’s offer.

Kansas offered $1.1 million per 5 years compared to the $900k per 5 years extension he had recently signed with Illinois. I’m under the impression Guenther never gave Self a salary raise. His extension was for the same $900k he was hired at in 2000.

I don’t recall Bardo being accused, let alone charged, with rape in college. He says it never got out because there was no social media. He also vehemently claims his accuser was lying.

He played 10 of 26 games that year which exceeds the 30% limit for hardship waiver.

He could apply for a waiver if we wanted….idk how likely it would be that it got granted
there is a chance - albeit slight - seeing they granted a 9th year to a football player at U Miami

Yep, we have lost coaches to two places in the modern era - the NBA and Kansas. Even Kentucky loses coaches to the NBA, and (again) I believe that Self only leaves for KU. In that same timeframe, we have had our pick of mid-major coaches who were the absolute jewels of the market at the time (Henson and Self), and we have straight-up swooped established coaches from very respected programs while they were doing well there (Kruger from Florida and Underwood from Oklahoma State). The only truly underwhelming hire we have ever had was Mike Thomas' doing ... big surprise! This is a great job.

Question for any of the insiders or anyone else who might know...

Was there any thought by TSJ(or his camp) in making an additional statement when the TRO was granted?

Something that re affirmed his innocence and maybe gave some sort of his account of things. Something out there to combat the "Illinois star charge with rape narrative."

Really anything to try and change(maybe just temper) public opinion

I know with stuff like this your typically advised the less you say is better, but just wondering what the thought process was.

I'm in general agreement with what you wrote (BU was a great hire and UI is a great job), but I'm not sure I would call BU's single year at Oklahoma State an established coach from a very respected program.

I just mean that historically OK State is a great program - 6 Final Fours and 2 National Titles. In other words, closer to Illinois than Oregon State!

I think it’s safe to say we’re the core viewership of Sleepers. Check the view count
