It caught Bryant halfway between an over the top throw and a back shoulder throw, and almost hit the defender right in the face. Either way you want that ball to lead the receiver toward the sideline and it didn't.
For Bryant to have the awareness and body control to kind of sync himself into the ball's trajectory is big time talent.
